The wife owns an 05 Silverado. That's about it I guess. I think my '65 C-10 doesn't count as trad but that's the next newest thing we got.

Doesn't make me any better than any one else I just don't own much.

Yeah, I hear ya. Thing is, when most people think of musclecars, they think of restored, overpriced things on some Speedvision show or on the auction block at Barrett-Jackson. Maybe I worded it wrong? Modified 60s-70s cars is more like it. Believe me, my heart's in the right place. I bought my 67 for 500 bucks, put it together with parts from the boneyard or the swaps, and other than spark plugs and fluids, I don't think I used anything new. I probably have less than 1500 in the whole thing, and I get the rotten stares whenever I show up to some show and they make me park next to the other Cudas. I don't have a picture of it right now, as it's sitting under a tarp in my backyard while I finish building my garage, but here's a pic of it at the beginning of last summer when it was just coming together...

 

There are some guys who think that. So?

If you have 10 cars and 3 fit the generous parameters of this place then I guess we're interested in 30% of your vehicles. The other 7 can be discussed thru Email or other forums with like minded individuals. This isn't the only car forum in the known internet galaxy ya know...

It has nothing to do with eliteism or anything...just simple logic and efficiency.

I like musclecars and I like Car Craft. Haven't had time to plow through their forums, but they publish burnout shots and scantilly-clad chicks every month.

Hot rodders NEED muscle car buddies to get the good engines and drivetrain parts... you guys think about that. Keep your friends close but.... hahahaha

WOW....54 cars, three mechanics! I can't imagine how you keep up. I can only get about three of mine into the workshop at a time and even then, tend to work on one at a time. The rest are squirrelled away wherever we can find space....on "backburner" status until time allows.

Actually for tech help, I've ALWAYS found the guys at Moparts.com to be very helpful. They always answer my questions within a few hours, and really only get uptight if you are straight axling a 69-70 b-body or an E body. The rest of the cars they just view as parts cars.

 

I didn't know that, no wonder. I was always curious, I realize they don't belong here, but I couldn't understand why anyone would HATE a 30 year old fast American car with a V-8.

My only question is how did they "destroy" hot rods? Why I didn't even know hot rods had BEEN destroyed, because I'm under 40?

 

Simple. In the 60s, the Baby Boomers BOUGHT musclecars instead of BUILDING hot rods. (less work that way)
Eventually, the drugs kicked in and they all bought vans.

 

I think there are many people that like different years and types. After all we are are car guys right. Even though I have my 65 Fairlane I also have an 84 Mustang GT ( since new ). Cruise once and awhile and have bracket raced it. Mid 13's. That said this place is really for the old stuff

 

yes they are very helpfull and its such a popular board you get answers pretty quick. But because my mopar is a 5th avenue I find I get more help there if I ask questions about a 87 chrysler 318 then if I ask about a 5th.

 

We are gearheads, knucklebusters, I am a traditional hot rodder..I love anything with wheels and engines, there is a thread(deleted,moved?) about "what has the HAMB become?"... You could always click on the user to view their profile...if that doesn't suit you curiosity, why not PM the guy and ask 'em what other cars their into..........these threads always turn out to be "My dick is bigger than yours" type of threads.....

How many thousands of members are here? That'd be an awful lot of PM's to send out.

And...to me anyway...it's not about bragging, it's about learning. One of the first responses to this post is from someone who has a 70 Camaro like mine. Now if I had started a thread saying "anybody own a 1970 Camaro?" that definately wouldn't have gone over well.

Now, here's a bunch of lists of cars that people are into and maybe you could pick something off someones' list that interests you enough to PM them...or somebody could pick something off your list (if you posted a list).

I'm going to get in touch with NVRRDUNN, because he has a lot of rare cars and maybe he'd be willing to part with some of them. Seriously, it's taken months for me to run across a few members who have some similar cars to my own "off topic" ones. This is just cutting to the chase.

Sorry if it was already covered in previous posts. Maybe somebody could post a link to the previous thread?
