hey guys here a update on my 54 chevy..i finally got to install the leaf springs .for those of you who dont know..i broke a leaf spring on the freeway about a couple months backk..here's what the car looked like before with whitewalls and the front coils being heated all the way down. from previous owner...very rough ride..made me grind my teeth everytime i drove it..now the car has new coils cut 2 coils and new leafs with 2 in blocks.i also removed 3 leafs..the stance on the car is okay..the rear needs to sit lower..gonna dearch the leafs when i get a chance..the car sits on cragers with 1 in whites..let me know your thoughts..

So, why did spring break? Why did you use new coils and then cut them instead of getting new short springs? Don't you risk breaking leaf spring again by taking so many out? What era are you trying to make your car fit? Cragars and thin whitewalls are a 60's thing.

Glad to hear the 54 is back on the road!

Why do people still heat the front coils:confused: Damn!
    No shit a rough ride:rolleyes:

Cut 2 coils off of one end or 1 coil off of each end?

Does the rear bounce a lot with 3 leafs removed?

    I dig the new look.
Can't go wrong with skinnys and cragars/supremes.;)

When you have the springs dearched (smart man:p)
    put the leafs back in.;)

How much would you say the rear needed to be lowered
with all the leafs and no lowering blocks?
Have them dearch em' that much.

The one side shot looks like it could have been from 71 or so. Push that square box out of the way and tell everyone it has been in the family since then...

I prefer the 50s style myself but I like what you've done with it.

And again, 1 coil from each end or 2 from one? I've got a spare set of coils I'm fixin to whack. Didn't think about it from this aspect, which is the right way to go?

Looking good man. I say dearch the leafs and cut the front coils till you can bag it.

Don't listen to these other knuckleheads...KEEP THE CRAGARS.:) 50's cars with the steelie/wide white combo are a dime a fuckin dozen. I know they're era correct and look good, but they seriously bore me. Nice to see you doing something different.

    I know you've seen Happy Hoppy's car.

That looks wayyy better with the cragars. im sick of the same shit. The low rider look is rad. the stance and wheel/tire combo work well with the full trim, etc.
