I dropped by a friend's shop this weekend to see what all the fuss was about. David Huskey lives a couple of miles down the road from me and apparantly is the "Pied Piper" of rusty old cars. He figured out years ago that the junky old car most everyone else passes up usually has just the part he's looking for. So what if he has to buy three are four old coupe bodies just to make one good one.....it just leaves extra parts for something else. Dave's a mopar man and that makes the hunt easier at times (most people around here shy away from non-fords and chevys)but alot more difficult when it comes to the smaller stuff. He's been playing the pipe again and here's his latest collection to find it's way to his shop.
Is there a method to this man's madness? Most people look at this next picture and wonder why he wasted his money. Dave sees a cab over truck! There is a non-rusty car or two on the property.... ....well, kinda.... here's a link to the rest of pictures: http://public.fotki.com/ButchP56/pops-garage/
It's a wonder the neighbors haven't complained yet. Lucky guy to be able to keep the stuff in a residential neighborhood today.
David owns or did own most of the houses on the cul-de-sac. His closest neighbor works on motorcycles. They share a driveway and the neighbor's son helps Dave around the shop. I forgot to ask, does anyone know where Dave can find 33" tires for the big ol' Studebaker??? Any info would be much apreciated.
