He’s been a bit busy himself.
A friend of his who normally builds phenomenally quick drag bikes (he has a twin supercharged twin triumph engined bike in build at the moment) was let loose with his polishing mops…

They’ve whittled some mains caps whilst they were at it and Craig is currently building tooling in readiness to line bore the block for shells. Guess I’ll queue up a pair of B blocks behind that one.

  4. Are those Philidas nuts on the studs? I wished I'd gone that route instead of the supplied castle nuts but there were none in stock around here.

Finally made a timing pointer and put a light on it, I am getting 8 to 10 degree advance out of this Mallory dizy... So total advance was 14 to 15... Just seems not enough to me.... Guess I need to send this thing out to get it recurved, I hate to do it cause I normally curve all my own distributors by charts and not a machine but This Mallory uses different springs than my MSD ones etc, and I cant find springs etc...

So what are ya'll running for total timing on a warmed up motor?

First time checking into the banger threads, I just picked up this T with a supposedly rebuilt engine and a bunch of other parts. In looking around quickly it seems that most talk is about A and B motors, does anyone do anything with T motors? I'm not sure what my plans are for this yet, build it up using the T frame, axles, motor, etc. Or I also have enough parts to build an A chassis and just drop the body on that. Either way, it will be a while, I've already got a bunch of other projects that need finishing first. I probably shouldn't have bought it, but it was close to home and the price was right, so why not. I guess I could always flip it if I decide to not build it. Time will tell I suppose. 14. Have you fitted an external filter? Any pictures of that side?

This is the bolt I’ve had made to fit the side cam gear cover. 1/2” UNC, 5/8” hex with a 1/4” BSP female thread and an 8mm reamed hole down the centre to feed the oil gallery. F3E64343-4CD8-46DE-A205-B2FAFDE28DFE.jpeg

Checking in. I was considering a scat crank for my B motor but with all the posts of broken cranks it has me questioning that idea. Would I be better off having my B crank drilled?

  16. Stupid question. Would putting a B cam in an A block with A lifters make things not work correctly?

Yes, externally, but I replaced the two rear main studs and the #2 & #4 main studs with Milidon studs and all of the nuts are ARP

I have not finalized my filter system yet. My plan is to use the same bolt set up you have. I will be incorporating a Scat oil filter bracket with the external pressure bypass. That is my next action item.

I've done it. It is easier with adjustable lifters. You might also think about putting some spacers under the springs to increase the seat pressure.

  21. I do have adjustable lifters in it. This is an engine I bought "rebuilt" swapped the cam in, and never got to fire. Working my way backwards to try and figure out what is going on. I think I may pull it down and double check everything and reassemble. Then try and start it with a known good carb and distributor. I kinda think maybe I can't get it spinning fast enough to fire on 6 volt. But I'm not really sure or it would already be running.

  22. Similar. I have a Mocal filter bracket that I’m figuring out where to hang. The pressure relief is built into the pump I’ll be testing for RKE. I’m fitting an early sump so I’ll be able to drop it out the bottom when the want to check it over. 45AA85D1-DF5A-4A6B-B599-188D00C4ECE2.jpeg

Looks like you’ve got a nice collection of As. The truck is probably really nice with the 5 speed.

  25. Good looking high rad body there Dave. Better than I started with.
I've been piecing together another '24T roadster for a while. Trying to solve the problem of not fitting by dropping the centre X member I added to pick up the wishbone mount and give me some footroom.

My engines have different oil fill tubes. One of them is 1 1/2” in diameter and needs a cap the other is about
2 3/8” in diameter. Are they for different years?
Should I buy a cap or a different fill tube and cap? C038B13A-037D-431C-B1BA-22FE4A28669F.jpeg F0BCB364-8357-4D9F-B5C2-5B686811F7EA.jpeg

They look like very nice pieces. I assume the cam gear is used to degree the cam. Do you find the cams are right on? Do you advance the cam a bit?

The smaller tube is Model A. The larger is Model B. I have found no advantages to either one.
