Despite the thread's title, could someone explain the hitch on this? To me, it looks like a single bar attached between the truck and the center of the car. So, on braking wouldn't the car want to "come around" making that bar at right angles to both vehicles?

Unless I miss my bet, that tow bar is a lower control arm off a '41 Chevy. They were symmetrical. so worked like a larger one. I had one of these that had been used on an old jeep...

 

Hey Jimmy, that's what made the "restoration" of the Dream Truck and Ak Miller's El Caballo. The Truck was made to look good from 50', no mirrors, no turntable. That made my job easy. The El Caballo was strictly business....

 

Ate there, swam at Sutro Baths, played at Playland at the beach, and visited the Fleishhacker Zoo. San Francisco was a really cool place back in the 50's......

Sure looks uncomfortable! I hope he gets it fixed soon, would hate to think he has to stay in that position very long.

How does a guy get into that position and keep his back and his legs straight? My back would be bent, my hips would be bent, and my knees would be someplace near the far fender. I'm impressed!
