Customs 1958 Impala custom

  1. I copied this pic from the HAMB Facebook page. Its a Mooneyes show in Yokohama Japan. Can anyone here explain how this paint job is done? It looks like tooled steel to me. I have never seen anything like it. Really cool in my opinion. Even the bumpers have the effect done to them. 317562713_10225198777810764_1528400399598131578_n.jpg

Looks like some of Roy Rogers tooled six shooters, or his silver saddle hardware....

  3. It's not paint.
It's engraved sheet metal (maybe with clear topcoat).

I think it was explained as they heavily primered the car and then did the engraving in that and then shot it with a bright silver. The bumpers and trim do look like they are engraved though.

That would be so nice if you were to take all that crap off it. When I was a kid that was a dream car..

  7. The back window says Custom Paint Rohan body works. But it looks engraved to me too.

  10. There is an older You Tube video on how the painter, Izawa Art Design did the paint job.
Very tedious project, but fantastic results.
