This is the project that’s going to use up my time this winter… i think that i bought it roughly 14 years ago, and it was patiently waiting for me:

Can't go wrong with a Bubbletop! Does this have a Chevy in it?

  4. That will be cool for sure. I definitely have a soft spot for Pontiac’s and they don’t get much cooler than that one. Hopefully you will keep us up to date with progress.

You need to know the difference between the Canadian and American cars when you go searching for parts that fit. Best of luck.

Thanks, and will do! The plan is to replace the 6 cylinder with a 327 V8, but it’ll keep the 3-on-the-tree.

Cool car, bubble tops don't need much. a lot of wheel choices 'fit' the look. Never cared for the french names they used up here. I see the name badge attached in true Canadian fashion. (How fitting that this should occur through the 'a's Eh?)

A few years ago, a box of beer was traded with a pal of mine for this pair of skirts… they definitely always make cars look longer, and with a set of 4 two inch lowering springs, there won’t be alot of rear wheel showing:

Neat car. It's just begging for a Watson/Bellflower style treatment...

I had a 60 Buick 2 door hard top when I was in my early 20's. Sold it to put money down on a house. Would love to have a 60 Olds, Buick or Pontiac again some day. Looking forward to seeing this come together.

Beauty, Philly. I say slam it, update the mechanicals and motivate as is. It looks as long as your '60 Caddy Flattop too!!

If you need to replace the I6 three speed with a V8 three speed, maybe keep an eye out for an overdrive.
It should work with your column shift but you might have to fabricate or find old matching shifter linkage rods.

I had a ’60 Catalina back in high school, marina blue Earl Scheib paint job, 389, 2bbl carb and 3 spd. Great car. I thought mine was an economy model, I had no idea that they also came with a six. I guess here they were available in the Star Chief model.
It was the car that taught me never to buy a car from back East. Rust, rust and more rust.

Love 60 Pontiacs. My dad had a beautiful chocolate brown 60 Parisienne 2door hardtop with 283 auto. Of his many vehicle that is the one he (and I) wished he kept.

  28. Actually 62 BA hardtops were the first to be called "bubbletops" to differentiate them from the Impala 2 dr. HT.
Calling a 61 (Chevy ,Olds, Pontiac, Buick, Caddy one, is after the fact.
