Found a few hard to find parts. A set of Modified SOHC covers, with the rear Breathers, for Fender clearance, and the Hilborn 4 Port, thanks to a Great Hamber. Also a Old Hurst T Handle, with the Metal Roll Control button, for my Line Loc. Good times.

DSCF0252.JPG DSCF0254.JPG Maybe I should part with the pack from the 9th fastest car at the 1965 U.S. Nationals.

Here is the real Cammer, in place. Next will be front engine Plates, Clutch and Slave Master Cylinder, final hood hole trimming, and Headers. imagejpeg_0(17).jpg imagejpeg_0(16).jpg

You are making fantastic progress. That Cammer barely fits. There were very few Willys Coupes that had them even back in the 60s.

This took a few rounds of Re Engineering! I think we have it this time, but as we are all where aware of, there is a lot more to do. Column is on order, as well.

Nice build, following. Love willys but always felt rear fenders to body lip messed up from factory design to build. The center of rear fender should be higher to gently flow into body, which body already has. Hope/trust you follow what trying to describe.

I was talking about factory design to factory built. On front fender, body to fender over seam is smooth. On back fender, front and read of fender smooth to body. In middle of rear fender, body has small curve out to fender, but fender is half inch + down from body. I always felt this was factory goof when stamped rear fender & I feel might look better if center rear fender smoothly met curve up into body shell. Do not have body work skills or cash to do it & never seen hotrodder attempt. Seems complicated as hell to cut up rear fender, move center pieces for tight fit to body then make one piece fender again. Hot rodders have followed factory style. Challenge for a chop top builder to put one together ( smile ).

  25. And now for some useless trivia ....

According to an article in the the Feb 1968 issue of Car Life ... "the SOHC Ford is sold only with cast iron heads, and the aluminum units are sold as replacement items. This should lead to a goodly pile of cast iron heads around the back door of top engine builders".

The above segment was taken from an article about a SOHC powered dragster owned by Lou Baney, driven by Don Prudhomme and engine builder Ed Pink.

Anymore, finding cast heads is rare, let alone Aluminum, unless you go Aftermarket.
