Not only do you have a Hot Rod, you have a FACTORY Hot Rod!
    Rare option indeed, I'm sure!
...and that's the car that's your avatar?

Have owned this for 30yrs..235", granny low. All stock. Drove it every day for 10 of those years. Has never
failed me. As a blacksmith once said, "Old tools feel better".

  5. Yes it is!!!

If I can relay an OT 6in a row story...My 1st"hot rod" Nova Mom & Dad bought new in 73! 3spd on the floor manual steering, manual brakes, AM radio that I bought from them in '78 & have owned ever since! Put a glass pack muffler, open element air cleaner & ran 16.20 in the 1/4 mile as a 16 year old!!! It has been a fun addiction ever since!!!!!

    God Bless
    Bill

Beautiful truck Bob. Makes me yearn for my old GMC (albeit, mine was much newer).

    NICE!
No more classic race engine than a 302 GMC modified by Kay Sissell.

(from the Sissell Automotive website's history page)
In the mid 1980’s when nostalgia drag racing was just becoming popular, Mike and Kay decided to resurrect the 1923 T Altered (Sixtee) that was a D & E Altered record holder with the NHRA through the late 1960’s. It was updated and made its debut at the Irwindale Reunion race at the old Palmdale (LACR) raceway. It ran in the inline/flathead class throughout the west coast, winning numerous races. With its upgrades and improvements and with Kay driving the Sixtee produced a new record of 9.21 ET on gas.

Mrhotrod6 was after that record for a long time in the altered he had the closet he ever got was a 9.27 up until I built a head for him, and we swap the Kirby brazed in lump head he had on the car for one that I built him with my lump port kits. He broke that record with a 9.16 and backed it with a 9.17 I forget what the mph was. I know it was posted in the 12-port news when he did that.

Is that an Inliners International record or a nostalgia record?
I thought the NHRA record for the equivalent J/A is about 7.7.

This was the old Chico Braschini car that won the March Meet 7 times and the Winternationals 5 or 6 with an Algon injected 301 SBC.

  20. 2003 I built this car from scratch for Poncho (RIP)
Used a sedan body, 200ci Ford engine and a buncha scrounged parts. Not sure where it went after Craig took it home, maybe California.

More information on the 1960-63 C10's Deluxe Steering Wheel for y'all.
Very hard to locate a clean, or not broken, Half Round Horn Ring and The Center Horn "Button" that the chrome is not bubbling or peeling off of the horn ring and button, be prepared to pay $$ for a very clean Custom Steering Wheel...
Plus showing the RPO Z62 option.
Plus showing what the Custom Deluxe Steering Wheel looks like broken, but most importantly, you can see what the Custom Steering wheel looks like, it's flat, fat and has line's on the two center Arm's going out to the outside of the wheel, Not at all like the "Standard Streeing Wheel" for the none Custom Cab C10's. 27. Not my current “hot rod”, but my old 1953 Dodge Meadowbrook…

    1B0F0888-57EB-448B-8164-70FCA8733798.jpeg

…always wowed people whenever I would pop the hood.

I also used to have one of those coveted 302 Jimmy’s, but unfortunately it was in a 14,000 lb truck.

BTW, I’ve got an Edmunds valve cover for a Chevy Six in the classifieds right now if anybody’s looking.

    Thanks for the fun!

    My dad had a '60 Apache 10 with a 261 and Overdrive.
    I had a '65 GMC with a 305 bent six and a granny 4-speed.
I miss both of those trucks, too.
