My pump had a sticker that said, "I did this" At the risk of becoming political it had a pic of a certain President on it.:D

  4. I've had the timing everywhere from 34 to 40 total, car still has the stutter that it had with the 600 Holley. It seems worse with the 750. I have no reason to believe that I have a leak, but I'm starting to wonder about the gaskets on the top of the tunnel ram. Somebody remind me again how fun hot rods are please!

Prolly should drive your stuff more often to avoid the dreaded jelly carb :p ETHANOL SUCKS. Seriously old ethanol gas will stick the intake valves in the guides causing big Fing problems.

  8. Good advice man lol... and you shouldn't let them sit outside with no hood in the rain all summer! Damn alternator was stuck! It fires right up now, idles great, but hit the throttle and it dies, or coughs and hacks. Not far from ordering fuel injection :p:D

  10. Too bad i sold the 80’s TPI that came out of the 57:D

  11. Yep. I took all of the slack out of the springs and bent the tabs down. It does seem like the cam on the front pump doesn't have much travel though. I didn't have much time to mess with it. But with the air cleaner off, it has a good shot with the slightest movement. Front and rear.

He will have more... Ask about his new wheels:p

  21. Lmao! He sent me a text this morning with a picture of his new wheels, I told him they were sexy! Then about 7 or 8 hours later he sent me a picture of it on the rollback! I felt bad for him, but I'm glad it didn't come off and tear his car all to hell!

You need to loosen the accelerator pump screw, tightening it is the wrong direction, that takes all the travel out of it. It should clear the pump arm by a couple thousands with no preload on the pump.

Take the vacuum jumper off and plug both port's and see how that works...

Something else to consider ( after you loosen the pump ) you said both front and rear pumps are discharging right off idle. If so the carb has some 1 to 1 linkage and than is a lot for a mild motor. If it does you might want to get the progressive linkage for it.

  30. The dyno tuner explained to take all of the spring out of the linkage, and the tab that rides on the cam gets bent down to remove any slack, and the space is set at .015. He also told me that the slightest movement of the linkage should show a sign of gas out the discharge nozzle. So what you're saying is different than what he taught me. I'm confused
