Does anyone have a 49-52 Chevrolet Passenger car that is close to original height? Even cruising height. I am trying to set up my 4 link on my bare chassis and need to know some standard points from chassis to floor yo use as a reference point. Even the front and bumper bar mounts on the chassis would be a good start. Thanks Choppergrino
I was going to suggest the GM Heritage center for there information packets, but I can't find them on the site today.
Thanks BJR I had a look at manuals online but had no luck. I don’t have a hard copy. I’d be happy just to know a few measurements off someone’s car that is close to a legal cruising height also.
I don't think you're going to find those dimensions in the factory manuals...but I could be wrong. If you're setting up a 4 link, set it up at the ride height you want. I assume you're using coilovers, so just assume 5 inches of shock travel- 3" of bump and 2" of droop. Make you some ridgid pieces that set that height and roll with it. You will adjust the coilovers to that height at the end with full weight on it.
Thanks Rockable, some great tips there cheers. I have set my chassis up with front and rear airbags. As for shockers will most likely use standard. Love to have coil overs if the budget allows!
Try this, https://web.archive.org/web/2022060...eritage-archive/vehicle-information-kits.html , it may or may not work for you.
Thanks Joe, looks like a great resource. I can’t get it to work but when I do I’d be interested to see what it’s about!

That's useful. Just went out to measure, and my '51 is 4" lower than factory. Everybody says it looks right, in terms of arch to wheel position. Downside it does ground out.
