Would somebody, I say would somebody please save that Plymouth (rescue that is)

If it’s a real add. The guy had other Plymouth items on his profile. So it could be real. It’s a cool ride, real ad or not

 

I hope the hell Berney was better at fixing radiators, than he was at bodywork

Good thing that is in CA. I probably couldn't get my fat body into the car, but if it was closer, I'd probably have to have it.

Have to wonder what those rather large holes in the top corners of the cowl are suppose to do?

needs some nopar motivation. Maybe a hot flat 6 or a ploy.

 

Hot Poly, early Hemi, or early 383, would all be a lot of fun. looks like a lot of space between the firewall and the front bars, probably ran a flathead inline 6 or maybe even a flathead inline 8.

I built a 39 Dodge pickup, I could get in and out OK, My belly even cleared the steering wheel, but at 6'1", my knees were on both sides of the steering wheel. Great fun to drive, but pretty uncomfortable really soon. I suspect the Coupe has about the same space, firewall to the back of the roof.

 

I built a 33 Plymouth 5w for a friend. The coupe has more room than the truck with the rear package tray removed and the seat moved back.
I’m 6.0 and the opposite of skinny.
Fit just fine

 

Holes in the cowl to see front tire wear? I think I remember some of the early NASCAR guys did that. And if that wasn't half way across the country for $500 I'd already own it.

Bigdog, not sure you could see the tires with those holes that high. Maybe he wanted to see how close he was to the guy in front of him?

 

Would be nice to see it saved and restored into a Hot Rod.

Pretty close to me. Just past Sacto. A hundred bux in gas would bring it home. Well, that and the cost of the divorce... I saw the wide five, too. Strange.

 

I saw that too. I dig the hell out of it, a de-uglified stock car has always been on my mental project car list but I have no need another project car right now.

 

This may have been a 33/34 Plymouth if I‘m not mistaken. I‘m glad it‘s not for sale around the corner from me, otherwise I‘d be loaded up and truckin already…

End of Hamb Era Jalopy Racers are pretty robust with the Crash Bars...that one looks pretty sturdy...it was nearing the end of an era for Hamb Friendly Stockcars...

 

Still running a mopar looking 2 piece rear axle set up.
The recapped rear tire is interesting and the front bumpers uniform bend doesn’t match the rest of the cage work. Wonder if it’s a sacrificed front axle.

 

Looking at the photos I tend to agree. In those days they always had to make repairs after every race, regardless of how long it took.

 

Not very kind to sheetmetal either with a rockem sockem lifestyle...but it sure was a popular event...
