Sorry to see the poor track conditions and I hope it clears up enough to get some runs in. Might want to report speeds in knots though. Just sayin.

How about we keep the contest going and everybody that has already posted a guess for Lucky's speed keep that guess for the next time he goes out to play? What do you think, @Lucky Burton?

Is there a website to look at that explains what and why the letters mean? Heck, I’ve no clue about them is drag racing either. I see guys saying you’d have been in “a/bc” or whatever, always wondered how/why they were designated like that.

All Bonneville SCTA records are the same, rather it be in the summer or the fall. SCTA has records for the El Mirage 1.3-mile course that are, of course, usually less than the 5-mile Bonneville length. El Mirage uses a shorter trap equal to the top speed in the Finish Line trap.

Just to confuse you, the Bonneville records are a two-way average of the two runs that are an average speed over a same one-mile section of the course. Yes, you can set the record with the speed of say the 3rd whole mile, but with most cars that go pretty fast, they can set a record in the 4th or 5th mile. But you can't mix miles.

Slower vehicles that can't average over 175 MPH between the 2 and the 2-1/4 are not allowed to run the long 5-mile course.

The classes are designated by engine size before the / and supercharger (or not) and fuel used plus body type after. Examples -- A/BFMR -- A(big) / Blown Fuel Modified Roadster.

If you're really interested, get a Rule Book from SCTA. It's complicated.

I know World Finals is a scta/BNI event and would be the same but I do not know if the records carry over to World of Speed as that is a USFRA event. They probably do but I am not 100% on that. Anyone know for sure?

All record runs at World of Speed are verified by an SCTA official and are recognized by the SCTA.

    From the USFRA web site:
USFRA Events are run in strict compliance with S.C.T.A. rules and regulations.
All Competition Class records set at USFRA events are certified by SCTA Officials on site and are recognized as SCTA Competition Class records.
