After pondering sticking them on Billy's thread I decided to start my own of the show to make it simpler for me.

The numbers seem to be down but the quality of the cars there was great. The heat and cost of gas probably had a lot to do with that. The average distance for most participants had to be around 200 miles one way. Door to door with just a maybe 2 mile side trip into town yesterday morning to get gas, water, ice and a spendy quart of oil was 120 miles. OOPS the bottom car on this post should be the top car as it was the first car on the end of the row. Had to edit the photo to be a bit smaller for the computer to like it. Nice batch of cars.

Moving on down the row of Model 40's that should have been post 5 we find a nice black full fendered Cabriolet with a flathead from BC. Then I found Billy and his sidekick kicking back in the shade.
My computer or this worthless Century link internet thinks my photos are too big to load so I have to edit as I go.
This is the first time I have seen Billy's roadster out in the daylight as every time before it has been at the Portland Roadster show that is so dark in side the Portland Goth kids go there to parade around.
The attention to detal on that car matches anything you will find on an AMBR car.
Then Billy spotted the old guy in the turtle shirt with the camera ambling around. Order of the day for most participants was staying out of the sun and kicking back. No car duster activity to be seen out there. This is a car you have to see in person to fully appreciate, It's kind of like that hot chick in town who just never looks great in photos.

Then we take a look down the row from the starboard side.
Then we get to the Blue section.

When you are the last Model in line You get to stop and listen to the stories from the guy in the big hat..
Having your couple down at the end of the line means the camera guy gets to take a good side shot, Bonus. The view from the end of the model 40 lineup.

Then I turn around and there one hanging out next to the DQ. Mean looking bugger too.
    On down the line to a little A coupe with a flathead with Navaro heads. IMG_5296.JPG IMG_5297 (2).JPG IMG_5298 (2).JPG IMG_5299 (2).JPG IMG_5300 (2).JPG IMG_5301 (2).JPG IMG_5307 (2).JPG IMG_5309 (2).JPG IMG_5311 (2).JPG IMG_5313 (2).JPG IMG_5314 (2).JPG IMG_5315.JPG

This is a slow process as either my computer or the internet is having issues. on down the line we have a Model A coupe and a nifty 58 Chevy pickup with a lot of tricks but not overdone. That 61 Impala wheel really looks right in that truck.
A couple more photos and I hear "hey Camera guy you want some water" The Fine folks under the Schroder took care of the thirsty old camera dude with some great tasting and Ice cold water, I'm very thankful for that. Lets start this one out with a shot showing the great color of Almostdone's slick Model A coupe. More photos to come when I work my way around the line but this shows the great color.. We walked around to gether for a bit but I think he decide it was too hot out on the pavement.
Then a look down the middle of the rows.
Lots of cool Model A Fords plus a nifty 37 Pheaton and a survivor deuce coupe .
The 36 Coupe spun my wheels, A clean and simple no nonsense car that doesn't have anything that doesn't need to be there to make it a proper tail dragging early custom. Quite often having some restraint as far as what fru fru you stick on looks a whole lot better than a lot of frufru. A few more in the line up including Almostdone's A with the W motor in it with 3 2 barrels sitting on top. Whe got mixed up on that somehow before I got it straight.
    I couldn't pick up the color on the shady side though. IMG_5372.JPG IMG_5373.JPG IMG_5377.JPG IMG_5378.JPG IMG_5379.JPG IMG_5380.JPG IMG_5381.JPG IMG_5382.JPG IMG_5383.JPG IMG_5384.JPG IMG_5371.JPG IMG_5376.JPG

The lime green on the A coupe has always been a favorite color of mine.
I got a tour of the blown Flathead powered A coupe and that car has a lot of tricks in it. Handmade custom upholstered seats by the owner and a serious flathead plus the owner is the guy who gave me the cold water.
I'm not usually into hard chapped, channeled right on the ground Model A's but this Hemi powerd sedan flat spun my wheels. I don't know how I would ever get out of it but The cool factor was extremely high on that one for me.

Then you know that I am going to take photos of every GM AD truck I see.

My computer has been a bit cranky loading some of the photos on the page. The heat was starting to get me a bit around this time. That chopped 54 Chevy sedan had some nice touches and the 62 impala reminded me of one a friend had in the mid 60's that wasn't much higher than that with a static drop. Here we have the music dudes who were hiding around the corner in the shade blasting the music away all day. Then a nifty little A roadster out in the lot away from everything else The other photos from a last walk though IMG_5439 (2).JPG IMG_5441.JPG IMG_5442.JPG IMG_5443.JPG IMG_5444.JPG IMG_5445.JPG IMG_5446 (2).JPG IMG_5447.JPG IMG_5448.JPG IMG_5449.JPG IMG_5450.JPG IMG_5451 (2).JPG IMG_5452.JPG IMG_5453.JPG IMG_5454.JPG IMG_5455.JPG IMG_5457.JPG

A side shot of Billy's roadster and a few that I took walking back to the convention center.
Yes it was hot out there but my car had been sitting out in the lot in front of the DJ for a couple of hours when I got in it to head home.
Last heading west with that grain elevator off to the right out on the horizon. I wanted to stop and take a couple of shots back towards Pendleton from the top of the grade but it was just too hot and the traffic was just too heavy and wild right then.

A 250 mile day after a bit of running around in Hermiston looking for a liquor store and taking the freeway all the way rather than going back over the Horse heavens. That's 14 extra miles over the two lane but doesn't cost any extra time. IMG_5461 (2).JPG IMG_5462 (2).JPG IMG_5463.JPG IMG_5459 (2).JPG IMG_5456.JPG IMG_5491 (2).JPG IMG_5493.JPG

Thanks for the pics, looks like a good show but I think that 117F would have kept a lot of folks away.
