I had some model cars as a kid, and never understood why so many of them came with chrome tools. Never knew they were part of the display.

  14. SO here is a question that I think I once knew the answer to: When did guys start putting telephones in their cars?

I'm not sure of the history, approximately mid 50's. I saw them in the little pages and I had to have one in my kustom. Probably the number one thing people ask me at car shows. "Is it real?" I tell them it is, why would I have it in my car if I couldn't use it. Lol!

  16. Radio telephones in cars dates all the way back to 1946 but started showing up in customs in the mid/late '50s as more people became aware of them. Most were fakes, as the cost of the equipment and subscription was prohibitive for just casual use, plus limitations on the allowable number of subscribers in a given area. They were displaced by analog cel service in the mid-'80s.

I was joking, there was no doubt about whose car it was. :)
I am a big fan of the@Moriarity collection from the cars to the magazines to the boat and the trike. I even know where the hot plate is, and the wires are.
