I'd love to but car needs some tlc and just too busy probably. But I just took the wife and kid there for the monster trucks a few weeks ago, and I was really impressed with the downtown area! Felt like a mini Chicago.

  4. I will be there again this year. I have attended it since the first one and still have my inaugural T shirt with Edwards drive in on it. Been talking with Kein and he assures me that the Union Jack pub will be just as nice a venue for the show as Edwards was. I'm really excited to go this year as I am bringing my kids for the first time. My 14-year-old daughter is absolutely enamored with the 49 to 51 mercs and my 10-year-old son loves customs too. Should be a great time. Unfortunately, my 50 Merc won't be there. I'm still building it. I hope to see some fellow Hambers

That's the way we were with the Stray Kat 500 for years. Band banquet, prom etc. We are finally free!

Has it changed? Kevin always has shirts and posters of the event for sale. I bought coloring books filled with customs from a vendor last year as well. Then the photo guy from Pennsylvania has stuff for sale. He was located at the host hotel last year.

Looking good Earl. Still no chop but maybe leave it like that. The front fender lips came up great.

No nothing has changed. No real commercial vendors. Kevin will surely be selling event shirts. I just didn’t want anyone to think they were going to find a vendors area like the street rod nats is all....

My buddy @FLAT-TOP BOB used to call his un-chopped Merc the "High Top" option.

  12. Will be there for sure. Plan is to bring the Chevy, but it's got issues at the moment and not sure if I will have them sorted before the trip....fingers crossed.

Every year I think I'll have something to enter, every year it doesn't happen. I'm still there no matter, it's like a big family reunion but with people you like.

Now that I started this thread, I may or may not be able to attend. We have a relative on hospice and not expected to live very long. She could live another month, but who knows. It's morbid, I know. Life happens in spite of our best laid plans.

I forgot who took this pic, but they caught Voodoo Jim, Dr Dave and I... Jimmy and I had a long trip but it was worth it to spend five hours at the CCR show.

Dr Dave and I meet up with a Kansas convoy in Hannibal MO. One of my Kustom highlights was being able to cruise with Doug Reed and Gary Minor to the CCR. Below are some of the pics from the second CCR show.

Be there again with the '60, haven't missed one yet. I always tell Kevin I would step aside if he ever needs a spot for a fresh car. But, I would still come and just leave it at the hotel.
Just like the early 60's show car days, I try to change something each year.

It`s visible on the other side of the interstate from the big bowling pin.

Kevin needs to open it up 500 cars. Keep the quality by photo registration only. I think he sells himself short by capping it.

The Saturday venue can only hold 200 cars. 500 cars would require lots more of a crew to handle all the headaches that comes with putting on a show. Photo registration is the way he does it now. This way he can weed out the non-traditional customs. It`s his show and he has specific rules that he has set in place. This is why it is such a good show. One is, just because a car is lowered-doesn`t make it a custom.

Larger venue, larger or multiple host hotels. So much more work for him. And I think quality would slide, but hey he let my car in so what do I know.
