    Looks to be Ray Harroun, winner of the first Indy 500. He was the first to use a rear view mirror. Most of the racers back then had a ride-along "mechanic" who, other than maybe keeping an eye on the gauges, their main job was as a spotter to let the driver know where other cars were around him.

    We drove it in 2019, absolutely beautiful. Also visited the Trees of Mystery. Great trip.

    yes, pic is from 1961 to celebrate the anniversary of his 1911 win. He was 82 at the time.

    I disagree. I treated mine a lot better than that as it was far from "just a car.". But then this was VT and may have been one of the Daryl brothers.
