I have 3 cabs left, no beds. I have an extra set of fenders and running boards.
Yeah he is doomed with outstanding good looks. It’s a heavy burden to bare.

    The caps are pretty cool.

Unfortunately, the pics look like it has juice brakes, but they are mechanical. We may need to get with you on how you converted and what pieces we need for the wide 5’s.

He’s all about the flathead stuff. He’s already researching it.
    I sure hope so…

The wide 5 drums fit on early Ford juice backing plates with no modifications.
For this valuable information I request the hub caps as payment.

I was looking on my phone.... I'm on the big screen now and can see them there cable sheaths. Good thing is he already has the drums and hubs so he just needs a set of '39 pedals and a set of '39-'48 brakes. For what he will have in rebuilding a set of old brakes, I'd talk to Sid about a set of his loaded backing plates that have the floating shoes.... self energizing.

Someone had put aftermarket Pete and Jakes shock mounts on it. They didn’t quite understand the concept.

I think I can straighten it. Colby is wanting to save the original fluid shocks anyway. I will press them back out and save them until he gets tired of the originals leaking.

Here is the grille he picked up at a local antique store. Paid a fair price too! It has a couple of small issues, but I have seen way worse for more money.

So Colby calls me to tell me about this truck he found that he wanted to buy. A barn fell on it after a tornado went through. It was a couple hours away and so he came and got my trailer and went and made the deal.

It was a hack job started by a dad, who died before completion passed around through the family members until it became hard art. Used for Santa Claus decorations prior to the tornado.

We think he will come out in the deal. He should be able to salvage the fenders running boards and chassis. The bed is GM and cab is toast. Is has a good banjo rear and wishbones. It has juice brakes, but they were never completed. Has the 3 speed tenant but they can’t see it to tell what it is for sure. The grille will become a clock or
    Something on the shop wall.

Dad said that the rear spring hangar busted when the building fell on it, which may have saved the frame.

He’s gonna end up with $800 in it, so he should come out all right.

Jim Sibley, if you want this cab, swing on by.

I will get more pics as we disassemble. These were shot when he was loading it.

  21. I’m sure there are some salvageable parts there. Are the bedsides decent at all? Looks like they may be AD Chevy pu?

Not sure. The bed may be salvageable. It probably is AD. It has the round top rails like they used up through 59 or so.

I should know more after this weekend. I’m sure that my dad and Colby can’t wait to start ripping and shredding.

  23. Heckuva deal I'd say!

What is chopped? I mean, not as much as it is now, but before the incident? The back window looks like a mail slot.

Yeah, it was a chopped 37 cab, but the work is questionable. Steel fenders though.

Was it sectioned, or did the barn roof do that?

I saw that on FBMP, and thought about how the boards and fenders were probably worth what the guy was asking, so 800 bux is a deal!! I started to send the guy a message, but then thought better and quickly looked away from the screen. Sorry, didn't even think about Colby.

We have 3 other cabs. He needs to spend his time mastering his craft….

  30. Yep. He’d be a master after pounding that red cab out.
