Update started making the hood, using aluminum. I’ll bring the sides and top to my pal @this old hot rod shop to louver it.
Jumped on the drives side panel, I had to make a cut out for the pitman arm...think I’ll do a blister later.
Hoods fitted, DZUS fasteners installed, latches installed and some mock up louvers. I used .090 aluminum for the hood, I would normally use .048 but messed up when buying it, so I just used it. It was a real pain in the ass to bend and roll
Hey Pete ..its Mac,, I sold the rebuilt caddy flathead to your friend......looking good...i have some vintage chrome louvres from the 70s...i think a 12 packages total , drill 2 holes with included template and press in inserts and press on louvres....might look good some where on the build...let me know...ill get some pics....about 150 louvres
That is pretty cool, thanks for including us on the journey. This thing has a ton of history, just in the short time it has been in your care!
This is Kayleigh..... she’s a 14 year old young lady who loves stock car racing and racing in general. she’s the gal I’m building the car for..
The louver press kind of removed the shape from the hood so I had to re bend it as best I could....I think it looks pretty rad.
