if I get a set of these Star Wire wheels, will I catch crap here for not being traditional? Many of the high end cars of the late sixties an seventies were running these jewels. Call me a low rider. I would not be offended. They are expensive so for what you can find in a used set, it might not happen.

When were those pictures at Watson's shot? Definitely not in the late sixties or seventies. I'd say yes to traditional. I can only assume they are a Buick or Chrysler wire wheel, although I don't think either would have a Chevy bolt pattern.

Whatever you want to call them, traditional or low rider, I would love to own or clone that BelAir. Not a thing I would change!!

I would like to see more of this Pontiac and less of the Hagen headlight kit.

I believe the wheels on that Watson Chevy may have been aftermarket, Cragar, Star Wire, available in many sizes. Similar to Tru Spoke wheels. I did a search and saw a blurb that they were coming back in 2021. Don’t know if that actually happened. Look through some old magazines. There was a time, when every classy custom on the covers or center wore chrome spoke wheels. A new set might be more realistic than old for me. 8727CA5E-5DB9-4A56-B1D6-14FAEF0E0E4F.jpeg 784800E2-AB8F-4C92-98CC-76C68A19D2E8.jpeg

the wheels on the watson chevy were Buick Skylark wires, a popular wheel used back in the day, people would have their hubs and axles redrilled to 5x5 so they could run them, these came on Buicks in the fifties so they are completely acceptable here....

  15. I always liked Tru Spoke wire wheels over the others. To me the Tru Spoke wires were closer to the original Buick wires. Of course you can't beat Borrani's or Zenith true knock off wire wheels. I never cared for the Cragar wires.
