Went out in the dark with a flashlight to check out my 42 Fordor. All windows go up and down. No forward or backward sliders here.

Yes, the 35-37 pickups have them, as you roll the window down, the first half turn moves them back half an inch, rolling them up, the last half turn closes them.
Took me three days to figure them out, they were all apart when I got the truck.

Here is Fords explanation of their "Clear Vision Ventilating System" from the 1934 Instruction Book.

Being assigned the task to install all the windows on a 35 Tudor slant back, I am learning about them.
About how there are different window crank locations, different channels, felts and what a total PITA
they are to install and make work correctly.
Leave it to Ford to make something simple way, way f'd up!

I knew a guy with smokers windows in an OT car, but that was because a cigarette butt went under the back seat. When he went out to his car in the morning, he had black tinted windows.

I had them on my 37 Fordor, all OEM stuff in the doors except the powered regulator motors, by Nu-Relics. Worked fantastic.

When working on cars for a living, you learn a lot. Nobody has mentioned the 41 Ford sedan with this option. If you pay attention, you will notice the window slid open being displayed at car show. 34`s Plymouth and Dodges front door. You can roll the window down and the option of rolling the window as well as the wing window with it down.

I got a really nice pair of 1939 Ford front doors off a 4 door, Modified the top rear edge and have them on my '40 coupe, no issues with leaking noisy '40 vent windows I like the clean look, however I don't smoke but I like the feature.

Well, yeah? Of course it did!! My first '48 Ford had one in front on the driver's side. ;)
Now, as far as the "smoker's window" in the back, I never knew about those 'cause the only times I was in the back seat, it was with one of the opposite sex and there was a lot of heavy breathing going on ;):D

That’s precisely when that vent window would be handy…:D
