It's good that people pay attention and look out for each other. It's a fine line, sometimes it is tough to know what to do. I've seen some seriously ruffled feathers on other forums more than once. "What happened to OldCurmudgeon, he hasn't posted in a week!" E-mail goes unanswered, etc.

So they send out the cops for a "Welfare Check". Talk about pissed off! LOL.

I think this may be worth considering.

 

I don't know about having direct info listing, but maybe "second contact" member who knows how each person.

There are a few folks here who have my personal phone number, and my social media info, that could check in immediately if something happened.

Not so much an "emergency contact" like send the police to check for signs of life, but more a "concern contact".

 

Well my business card is on here many times, wife's business card, etc... I wouldn't be hard to find lol...

How often have you seen someone post a question and the first thing asked is where are you from? If people will not even post their general area do you really see them giving their contact info for publication?

 

Yeah you're very correct, but those aren't the people that interact here and become friends. So you probably don't even notice when that person hasn't been around
