  1. This showed up forsale.
Says it’s been sitting in a shed for decades.
Crude unfinished project? Some kids unfulfilled dreams?

Don’t know if I’d call the rear tires cheater slicks. Looks like wore out old tires.

Fab some new door tops. Blend the door tops and cowl similar to a 35/36 roadster.
Work the belt lines and door tops to flow into the cowl
    Chopped roadster windshield.

I kinda dig the dash and wheel

  7. Potential, yes. Front crossmember and axle look late 40's.
Looks like a car that was posted out in Washington area a couple years back. Or, I'm just confused.

If someone was buying that car from me theyd have to come up with more like 9500 bucks. Im putting a 3 window together right now from a pile of parts. that one has alot to work with for the money and 5995.00 doesn't buy alot in 33 34 land

  16. Yep.
One good sheet of 19 gauge can fix the doors.

If I stumbled on it locally, I'd pay that in a heartbeat.

Thanks for the shout out @anthony myrick...why not locate a 3 window that is missing the bottom 12" and splice it back together and make it what it should be a 3w...lots of work but that's a given and many have proved here it can be done...look at...

The existing metal looks pretty solid and what I mean by that is it's not paper thin...

I wouldn't be surprised as alluded it was a bunch of mid to late teens project as alluded...it looks to have had 1 to 2" of bondo slathered over the galvanized door tops...they sure found out cutting a top off does not immediately make a Roadster...was it ever roadworthy...don't see any mounts but never know...

  21. I’d think I’d rework the belt line and keep it a roadster.

I prefer a roof over my head...just me...;)

But in this condition it's a canvas for whatever ones heart desires...

I'd be willing to bet that that's an old short tracker, a Jalopy Racer.
It was likely raced with the roof. The way it's cut up at the cowl looks like some of the old racers I have seen. Likely cut for heavy channel or tubing for the roll cage.
I'm not buying the scalloped sports car door look BS. Those doors were cut for a short tracker.
    Steering 41??? up cross steer???
Some of the heavy handed work on the chassis, again reminds me of a Jalopy Racer.

I think it was a coupe Jalopy Racer.
Somebody tried to make that body into a roadster a good while ago.

The seller has some "edjumication". He knows the " key words" and knows exactly who he's after.

It would not surprise me a bit if this thing was assembled/mocked up rather recently from junk laying around the back Forty.

  25. Could be.
The fame doesn’t look cobbled up enough like most circle track cars of that era have.
The pieced together theory is definitely possible

There was probably a mature link to this story coaching in the background...

The tire said to be a recapped slick is on the driver side...the recap being a treaded cap it seems...

Without a doubt it's residing at a Hotrodders playground it seems...lots of nostalgia peaking out behind it...and no doubt one well aware of the Hamb...

  27. Looks like reasonable raw material. Get them to throw in a couple of those signs that are laying around. Some guys could save all the components that are there, I don’t think I could be that guy. Fenderless roadster, carson type top, hard chop, save a couple grand by making your own 33/34 grille and surround … keep us posted.
