We all had that first car that started it all for us here was mine a 55 ford fairlane sedan 272 3spd.manual trans. First parts I added was a 4bbl intake and carb and sparkomatic floor shift and porter walls. It looked like this one! This was in 1962 for me.

1956 Mercury 9 passenger wagon in 1970. I worked all summer mowing yards to get the $50.00 to buy it. I drove it to school my senior year and for a year after that until I bought a 62 Galaxie that had a rod knocking 390 in it. I put a rebuilt shortblock in it and drove it a couple of years.

1950 Ford 2 door sedan, flattie V8 3 spd manual.
Bought it with accident damage and repaired. I was 14 (1958) when I acquired it, finished before I was 16.

    !950 Ford 6 cyl./ o d trans. 2 door. Rebuilt the 6 & it would beat a V8 & surprised more than one stock 55 Chevy.

Mine was a rusty $5 light green 1954 Ford wagon, water jacket on both sides split and bondoed over, rotted wood and carpet. The good part was it came with a tank of gas. Parents wouldn't let me take their daughters out in that car for some strange unknown reason. $5 in 1969 would be like $70 now ?

1979 Chevy Malibu 4 door rattle canned aqua blue with kelsey slot mags. Ran on 5 of 6 cylinders, and when I turned it off it would cough and sputter for anywhere from 5 seconds to a minute and a half, and the longer it sputtered, the more soot/oil mixed gunk would shoot out the tailpipe... Lol. My brother gifted it to me when he went to college. What an absolute pos, but I loved that car!

'51 Ford. Flathead v-8, 3pd. overdrive. It ran fast enough in 1st. gear to shift into overdrive so I had 6 gears forward. I shaved the hood, deck lid and seams on the rear fenders. I put a JC Whitney Floor shift in it and Fenton dual exhaust. It would run 98 mph. Oh, I can't forget the '49 chevy "cherry lights" under the dash. I used Black Majic to fill the divit in the trunk when I shaved it, It didn't crack for years. It started blowing left bank head gaskets. My next car was a '58 Chevy Impala, 348 3 on the tree, that one would bury the needle.

  20. 38 Ford Deluxe fordor at 14. Then shortly after traded it for a 34 Ford 3-window coupe.

  21. 1954 Ford 2-dr post, 6/stick. It was given to me (Free!), ran decent but was an ex-Michigan car that had seen too many salt-infused Michigan winters before migrating to Washington. It was right at the point of where stuff was going to start falling off of it. I wasn't old enough to get a license, but had my own 'dirt track' on the back of the property. I beat that car to death...

It was 1973 and I was 14. Mowing lawns and selling newspapers for$
    I don't have any pictures(didn't own a camera lol) but I bought a 55 Chevy 2 door sedan from a neighbor for $100.
I kept it at my grandparents so I could drive it in the field behind their house.
It had 235 w/3 spd shifter on the floor. I bought flat black rattle cans at Western Auto to get it all one color, removed the hubcaps, installed a rebel flag rear seat cover, and punched a hole in the muffler for mods.
It was a great time to be alive.

1963 and I was the proud owner of a 53 Chevy Bel Air 2 door hardtop. I lowered it, nosed and decked it, added a floor shift, duals and a 2 carb manifold. I thought I was really cool??????????
