hell yeah! I put my original avatar back up, it's a pic that appeared in Hot Rod magazine, of me doing a burnout on a public roadway.

Being from the upstate of South Carolina I have heard the "squirrel" moniker used to describe bad driving my whole life, my dad used the term practically every time he was in the car, people that acted like a squirrel darting back and forth, in and out of traffic, usually he was referring to teenagers. You are a "squirrel" because you like to get "squirrelly."

Is this a roundabout way of saying you're renaming the HAMB-DRAGS?

    hahaha!

    Hello,

The term "squirrel in a mustang" is very common in So Cal. Those cars were the downfall of the original Cars and Coffee events that started in Irvine., CA many years ago. The event(s) went to different places over the past years, only to get closed and kicked out due to "squirrels in a mustang." It could also apply to Camaros, too, but it was mostly noted as a squirrel in a mustang that did burnouts and "squirrely" maneuvers, sometimes ending up in a center median curb or other cars.
(You Tube can attest to those dumb moves...)

Even the latest version of Cars and Coffee (the largest in California) is still on the edge with home owners nearby due to those squirrels in a mustang... which now are joined by bee buzzer, little cars and those other V8 brands with the latest Magnaflow loud, popping pipes.

Nothing against our resident @squirrel with his wonderful builds, LeMons racing fun, drag racing, and great stories/memories from Arizona. The name squirrel was there way back when we were little kids, too. Our PE teacher in junior high school used to call this little kid a squirrel instead of a nut, which was offensive. The term squirrel was used to describe the jerky antics of this little hyperactive kid, in and out of classes.

These days, is is not teenagers, but seems like the 20 somethings that have no clue. So, sorry for the association of the name squirrel, but it is something else to have those clueless guys ruin something that a lot of people like doing on Saturday mornings. YRMV

I aspire to regularly be called a "squirrel" until I am well onto my death bed.

I have a rap sheet a mile long and neighbors that hate the sound of my hot rods... So, I'm on pace. Just gotta keep it up.

In my youth I was pretty fast on my feet and my neighborhood nickname was......Squirrel. I do remember the circus, but it was Ringling Bros.! Lotsa animals out there today in their dd's, the real squirrels seem to be Smarter. Thanks for the history.

A few of my close friends used to call me “Squirrel”, back when I was a kid and drove like an asshole. That was a long time ago...and I’m lucky I made it through that stage of my life!
