Technical Clunking noise in the rear axle

    I am surprised the orig owner has not weighed in on this, this car had a build thread. Danny if it is like most hotrods the rear came from a buddy or junkyard and was rebuilt with rustoleum , you will find it iam sure Tom

    Danny, if you were closer I would be glad to help you setup the gears if that's what it needs. Have been building rear ends .both stock and for race cars for over 20 years.

    I have a set of 3.00 gears for an 8 inch if you need them. You pay the freight and they are yours.

  4. Taking the rear chunk to a shop that specializes in setting up the ring & pinions this afternoon. HRP

  6. That was over 4 years ago, but the guy that fixed the rear sand everything looked good, he reassembled the rear and set everything to specs and the noise was gone. HRP

    First step have someone push the car back and forth in gear while you listen
