It’s got a TON of parts in the car that I still have to get cleaned out but here’s a couple more pics as I’m going through things
Congrats on this one of a kind Custom...aren't they all... That front end has a really nice flow and the backside is cool too...I'd continue with the dream and fulfil it...and give the Ole 59 Caddys a lengthy friend to hang out with... Heck you could button tuft the trunk and make a pop up tent using the lid and sleep in there...that is after the submarine race is over of course... Well...time to get the Lead Out!!
After addressing my concerns and adding more photos, I am officially on board with you now. lol Finish your mentors dream. Now I'm wondering about colors or paint scheme.
I’m thinking heavily about heavily seaweed flames but I also think the body lines lend itself to a fog and panel job!!
The more pics, the more I like it. But..... I've never understood flames on customs. Now scallops...... yeah
Seaweed flames are (IMHO) one of the greatest Kustom paint schemes ever done. Right up there with a panel paint job
The rear of the fenders look like they want a '54 Mercury tail light, but the overall feel seems to want the original '57 Buick lights. Either that or a set of '57 Packard Clipper tail lights.
Just finish the dang thing !!!!! if you start slicing snd dicing this thing your going to be in a whole new can of worms. it’s a radical custom, it’s not supposed to make sense!! It’s supposed to make you go W in TF ?? And this does that!!!
Yes a Watson paint job and some loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo… “Inhale” oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooonG Sidepipes.
I found one of the tail light lenses, unfortunately it’s broken but it gives me the opportunity to see what they would look like Also 2 54 merc lenses mostly fill the hole. Was kinda thinking about maybe cutting the ribs out of 4 lenses and gluing them together to see what it looks like ♂️♂️
Looking at its side profile, the headlites, rear of roof, rear of front and rear fender openings have that "forward" angle/pitch going on. I would have to create that same angle/pitch to its very rear tailite/quarter panel area to continue the "forward" angle look. A lot more work, but for the complete consistencies in angles, even the door jambs angled the same..currently the door being completely perpendicular to the ground makes it almost appear to be angled backwards. Proportions need to "work"..it needs more "work" before it's there.
I'll follow along but have no recommendations because you didn't ask for any. I have enough design decisions to make with my own builds.
