  5. The pan brings another unique feature to your build. I am withholding judgement on the hubcaps, I think your build deserves something different , but I will wait and see. I lean toward artillery wheels, but anyone can do that. Keep on keeping on.

I totally know these are a weird yet very early traditional look and a not well liked look. Artillery type wheels say over accessorized low rider/bomb to me not hot rod, And for the early wide 5 lovers out there I see what your saying…wide 5’s are earlier than solids and that artillery look, however as with everything hot rod and anatomy we all like different shit.

you need a set of steadfastmfg 18" high clearance wheels for the rear!

  8. Upon reflection, your original drawing has those hub caps, so you are staying true to the vision.

As I’ve stated previously I am no metal man and I have no practical idea what I’m doing. However after this transmission tunnel I think I’ll have a better idea what I’m doin’. Raising the motor and trans has made it difficult to find a place for the throttle pedal. I might have to make a notch for my heal to rest on or something????

I’ll rough things out a bit more and then burn some wire and see what I’ve got!

Have a look at @Austin kays gas pedal on his newly acquired Radical T Coupe...right under that right boot...

I still haven’t figured out the throttle pedal but the floor is a little bit further along. My fab skills still are about a C- but all this shit is gona be under the floor mat any way!!!

The very front section is going to be a bitch though….

Make sure you do the driver side clockwise and the passenger counterclockwise. ;)

I loved the look of the original paint hood so much that I had to do something that I typically don’t like……fauxtina the car to match the hood.

I feel it’s turning out pretty convincingly. The last struggle is getting the sheen of the two to match a bit closer.

Hey love the roadster! The style and stance is spot on! What’s the 5 speed conversion your using for the torque tube set up?

Not at all a fan of fake patina, but that looks pretty damn good.
I would wax the hell out of it once you are done, should help the sheen match up better.

Questions: tonneau cover for when it’s just me driving/racing the car.(picture for attention, and it’s a really cool old race car)
    .
Aluminum: I have no idea how to form it but the question would be does it need a under structure?
    .
Fiberglass: I also don’t know how to work with this material but it is lightweight and rigid and could have structure glasses into it.
    .
Fabric: I would just take it to the guy and wave my hand and say some words and part with some bread and it would be done. I’m sure this would be something that I do regardless.
    .
So the big question is seeing the direction I’m headed with the car it’s another is the juice worth the squeeze question and any advice from peeps who might have made one of these before.

  27. Having driven Brit roadsters in an earlier life I would go for a full fabric tonneau with a zipper down the middle. I seldom put the top up, just zipped it up. Also it was easy to store if you wanted to. My 2 cents. Nice car by the way.

    Fabric.
    Fiberglass sucks.
Wouldn't aluminum without a structure be like driving with a meat slicer next to your head?
