Headed out early this morning to a local Sunday morning car cruise, met several friends there, including @jimmy six with his 56 Ford.

Here's my 47 coupe (Blue Betty) with my buddy Jim's very clean 34 highboy and my other buddy Kurt's Model A tudor (featured in Street Rodder years ago)

There's @jimmy six sitting behind his Vicky (a fella can only stand around and talk so long, then he has to take a load off the feet for a while).

Jim's Ford is immaculate, inside & out. These cel phone pics don't do it justice. The color is off, the grey skies caused my camera to mess with the colors a bit.

Took my crusty barn find Vette to Cars and Coffee. Extreme interest in an engine that hasn't been cleaned in 50 years, lol. I must have heard 'Do not restore it!' 100 times. No idea what Carbon Health is but it looked appropriate.

Acquiring more parts made me run out of room so this last week I've been moving the Freddie and Flo projects to bigger digs . Going to be another week or two now to organize and setup . Man am I bushed . You wanna go nuts just move your car piece by piece and all the tools and equipment what a mess ! Everyone keep your foot in it and we hope you had a good Thanksgiving

  7. Still trying to figure out where everything goes. Once I get most of the hard parts located I'll take it apart and do the chassis. Being retired I thought I'd make a lot of progress now but I tend to start late and quit early, lol.

Washed this one and topped off with high test for the winter. Weather was approaching 70... great!!
Notice that my dog is behind the V-8... a super rare piece. The V-8 horn grilles are even more rare!!!:D:D
I had the horn grilles made.;) The CA guys asked me where I got them when I was out there in 2016... I told them they came as a set with the dog!!:D:D

I washed this one yesterday and topped it off with high test, too.;)
    I've still got a couple to go.

Awhile back I had posted that I strung this pile and got the rearend square and set the toe in on the front. I had fabbed up the rear spring mounts and have them bolted in place which left me a little bit of adjustment. I have everything cleaned up and ready to weld solid but first I am going to haul it to a friends shop put it on his alignment rack and see where the thrust angle is at and make sure all is well before nailing it down for good ! hopefully I will not have to cut it all loose. 16. Shortened the torque tube, marked the driveshaft and lined up the bones to move the mount.
Got it all put together and realized the rear spring I used is a little weak and dearched for this application.
So dug a model A spring out and started trying to take it apart... it's rusty and crusty, so naturally I twisted the bolt apart trying to get the nut off. Annndddd the bolt won't come out and it won't come apart...
So now I basically have a small bomb in the garage...lol
I hosed it down with some Deep Creep and we will see what we have in the morning...

I finished the front end rebuild on my neighbors 47 ford. It is a an old bootleggers car with a 56 Chevy front clip. I don’t work on a lot of fords, but this one seemed pretty familiar.

I had a nice Yankee turn signal switch but it did not work so I moved on. Most of what I saw online is plastic chrome China shit. I have tried my best to have nothing but USA parts on this truck and have been pretty successful at it. Signal stat says theirs is still USA made so I went with that. But I am cheap and I try not to buy online. I do my best to buy local even if it cost me a little more. NAPA had one in stock and the price was $84.00 . I ran a auto repair shop in our little town for 35
years so know all the parts people and even the young ones all you guys complain about not knowing anything . Some of those young ones are now young men I coached or umpired their T-ball games. For the most part if you are decent with these people they can help you on prices. So they cut it from $85 to $65 so now I just have to get it wired up. Plus it is metal. IMG_0058.JPG For now I am just after turn signals and stop lights. I am to blind to drive in the dark lol. so headlights are down on the list.

  25. The brake pressure proportioning valve wore out after 20+years on my 51 ford. My mechanic replaced it with a new one from ECI, and in between a break in the atmospheric river storm, today, I picked it up. All is apparently well again. The valve was burning up my back brakes during a recent 500 mile trip. I was able to keep going by jacking up the rear end and releasing a bit of brake fluid from a cylinder whenever the drums started smoking. Not a good way to travel, but it worked as a temporary fix.

  28. IMGP3940r.jpg Pulled the front sheetmetal, then engine and transmission. Still to go are the steering box, and body mounts. Will be replacing full floorpan, once it arrives, or after Christmas break. Working around back nerve problems, and both shoulders wore out. So, only a few hours a day.

Didn't do shit to any of my cars today. Helped a couple of young guys building a 55 Chevy PU . They bought an 8.5 Chevy 10 bolt to put in it but it had 2.56 gears. Showed them how to break it down and clean it . After that we started setting up the new diff carrier for a set of 3.23 gears. They had no idea what it took to set up a rear end. Really enjoying working with these guys, they are building a 55 big window with a 283 and a 3 spd column shift. It has a Sids dropped axle and the boys rebuilt all the suspension on their own. Good day in my book.
