^^^^That's TOO COOL Ed. ^^^^I still haven't took the time to see how to post photos from my phone since the HAMB dropped the App. So here's a few oldies from my P.C. Have a great Tuesday. file. .
This is my Lightning, and the real thing has been consigned to https://maxmotive.com/vehicle/2002-ford-f150-lightning-v1012/ Now I would love to find a 1946 Ford Club Coupe diecast...
I have a question... First off, I'm an old retired guy, and I used to love building the plastic model kits many years ago. Anyway, after seeing the talent here, I wonder, are the buliders here finding die cast kits, or, do the pre made die cast come apart fairly easily for paint ect? I would love to get back into building, especially die cast. Right now, I just have the die cast of my Lightning, a '46 Ford Truck I bought at the Henry Ford Museum, 6 autographed Nascar cars from 2005, and die cast models of 3 of my old tractors. Let me know where to get kits, or, how do the pre built ones come apart.
I use die cast picked up at tag sales. Then modify them to my goal, two examples are shown. Jump in, it is a good pastime. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes, I have made plenty and my builds are not perfect, good luck ! Ed.
Recently found a metal Slik-Toys pickup truck that had mismatched wheels and a bad bright red paint job. I cut a rear window in the cab, found a cooler set of wheels, sanded the body and added other colors and some homemade rusty metal mix to give the body a more aged look. I like the way it turned out so this one will be a keeper.
Just in time for another "Tuesday" I just finished this 1955 Mooneyes Chevy 210. It's got a 32GB flash drive, working doors, hood, and wheels, and comes in a display case that still allows use of the USB. I just added it to my Etsy store where it's part of my 50% off sale (hint, hint-- it will be 60% off starting Saturday, 10/02 if it's still available).
Took awhile to round up this group of eight. The powder blue is the most rare. There many fakes out there. Make sure on the bottom it has raised letters that state MADE IN USA and AUBURN Rubber Co.
My newest toy. I picked it up at a toy show. It had everything that I like. First it’s a model A, second it’s about 1/24 scale tin, so it looks cool with the slot car layout, And third, it was cheap.
The photo is of my Grandpa standing next to his 1920 Silver Ghost,in Plymouth, England. Recently acquired a Franklin Mint die cast model that I will make a few mods to so it looks closer to his. Wonder if there are artillery wheels to replace the wire wheels available in 1/24 scale or 1-3/8" diameter.? Cut a hole to install rear glass at the very back. Wonder if front bumper was optional in 1920? The Harley Davidson shiny studs got to go on the front roof section. Plus, I will make it "V" shaped. I've seen Franklins with the "V" shaped roof and windshield. Was it a coach builder option?
How about an old Hubley 32 Chevy coupe reborn as a gasser? I bought this on a trip to the USA in 2017. Wheels and tyres are from a Hot Wheels Twin Mill Monster truck ( unfortunately too big for the Hubley Model As in case you are wondering), engine is from the Monogram S'Cool bus fender wells have been filled scratchbuilt headers. Hope you enjoy the photos! Cheers Alan
