Hot Rods It's Nice to Win one Every Once in a While

  1. Very nice sedan!
I need to raise my coupe. Did the two leaves alter the ride much?

  2. Not really, but it's hard to notice because now I have better shocks and more suspension travel between the axle and the frame, so it is overall a big improvement. They are the short leaves on top so I'm not sure how much those effect ride quality.

Man that things looks really sweet!
I can't believe that the spring perch bolts didn't just puncture the oil pan, what a blessing.

It’d be hard to do this car wrong. What a beaut.

Looks super familiar, did it come from California? Killer ride man, a win for sure.

Congrats @Dan Hay the 38/9 and 40 Sedans are real lookers skirted and low or Hotrod and raked accordingly. Have fun with it...good thing you looked it over there while adjusting things, as you alluded, some things were a little TOO settled...

  8. Arizona. I’m from there so a good friend was able to look it over for me. That guy in AZ bought it out of Michigan two years prior.

Man, that is sweet! Tell me about that sway bar? Does it help?

  14. Oh yeah... the car had tremendous body roll before. The first time I drove it I thought it was going to flip over... In fact, it would stick in the leaning position sometimes after turning into a parking lot, and I'd have to grab the roof and "straighten" the car out. That was partially due to the soft lowering spring in the front I'm sure. But the sway bar keeps it steady when turning and through corners. I thought it would need one front and rear but the front seems to be enough to control it. Starting in 1940, Deluxe models had a sway bar from the factory in the front, so even Ford was trying to fix it back then.

That turned out awesome. It’s understated, classy, and cool.
