  1. I am just fine and the drag coupe is even finer.:) Thanks for asking.;) I have a few things to do to her over the winter, looking forward to spring and racing season.

I FINALLY got some colour on the body after 15yrs! OEM New Ivory as will be the fenders and hood, roof and trunk will be OEM Pawnee Beige. Underbody is a light texture. Dyna-mat will eventually cover all interior surfaces.

We started the motor Saturday as planned ! ran it a couple times and got some heat in it. It sounds really good. Pulled the valve covers off to go back through the valves and all looked good. I am in the process of getting rid of the chrome covers and those awful looking Mr Gasket breathers. So I have been cleaning the inside of the aluminum covers that I hope to use. studebaker build 002.JPG studebaker build 001.JPG studebaker build 005.JPG The transmission seems to work , but on the stands is different than on the ground so we will have to wait on that one.

I have been in the shop a few times this week. I got my valve covers switched over to the black ones. That looks much better, fits the build. You know - rough - primitive - death trap look ! Added some good 110 gas. We cranked it on some non - ethanol 87 slop. She lights right up with a stock style point dist. Imagine that. gave it a few more cycles of run time. I have never followed the so called cam break in. I just run them as I see fit. I still need to put a light on it but I can't see it anyhow ! so that can wait. Here is a short clip of it running , both in park and in gear at the end.

Ditched the Holley 94 on the Cabriolet banger. I've done everything and just can't make it loose nasal drip.
Installed a Stromberg 97 after re-jetting 3 steps down on the mains and two on the power valve from stock.
Man, I should have done this ago!
Pulled the 'calibration hill', a 5% grade to 7100' elevation at 55mph at the crest where 47mph best with the 94 and no post nasal drip

I have the exhaust finished up ! no mufflers so it is pretty loud but it does sound good. I might have to go back and add some mufflers but I do not have any on hand so for now we will go with the loud version Also got the dust cover installed on the trans along with the homemade driveshaft loop. 21. I pulled the rear seat out yesterday so I could remove the CD changer in the trunk and the connection cable. Next up is a new "original look" radio.

Took front sheet metal off, sent to blaster, spoda get back today. I bought and received the left inner fender from Classic Industries- looks Ok. Don't know why but they were 139.99 for a inner fender where everyone else I checked were about 190.00. Still after tax/ins/shipping ended up being about 175.00, someone cut the left one out with a torch. IMG_3331.JPG IMG_3331.JPG IMG_3332.JPG I am going to fix rust in right one and air deflectors, outer sheet metal- A winter project. Now next step will be getting 2 part epoxy primer on bare parts.

Just stick some auger type baffles in the collectors and call it good. Will reduce the volume about 10db, good enough to keep you out of trouble, but still loud enough that you can hear it.

Not today, but last night, the wife and I took the coupe out to see the Christmas light displays around here. It was nice, cruising slow with the windows open and the heater warming our toes, taking in all the displays. It's become an annual tradition.

Maybe would be in that earth colour thread but now it gets here. It's my first real paint job and I'm happy with it. It sure helps with all the large body parts off, now it's only the rest to come so to speak. Not today, that would be a lie.. thumbnail_IMG_0920.jpg

  26. Chopped up and welded some garnish molding for our '47. Been looking for the wayward rear view mirror for while now; guess I'll have to get another one, usually a surefire way to get a missing part to turn up.

Sawed up and fit some ABS for the kick panels. Gonna check if Jenny has some scraps of the thinner ABS and try to heat and bend a cover for the heater hoses.

Straightening out the bracket on a Chicago Auto Lamp 151. Hood is in great shape but the bracket was bent and twisted up pretty good. Took hammer and dolly to it and came out decent. Ready to get the rust off and paint.

Nothing, but I did install a tow hitch on a neighbor's Subaru, which will give me a few extra bucks to use on one of the rides I enjoy driving.

Just did a little cleaning up on the 47 this afternoon, planning on taking it out to a Sunday morning cruise tomorrow, so I wanted to shine her up a little bit. Wiped the paint down, took some windex to the chrome wheels and stainless splash guards, and a whisk broom to the carpets, foot matts and running boards. Eh, it's not a show car, but she's looking sweet to me. Now she's tucked back under her cover until the morning.
