Remember when doing the wiring not to let the smoke out of the system. It's hard to recharge it if you do...

  5. That's actually a nice shot. I can't say I've got a single picture of myself doing anything with a car.

My gosh, even your wiring diagram puts mine to shame! But, on a bright note everything worked on mine, although I wish I had done a few things differently.

Not meaning to criticize, but I'm in agreement with you on not being a fan of the tailpipes. Sort of a flared-out wheelbarrow handle look. Sorry....just another's humble opinion.

Okay Paul, you've had a weekend to nap in the garage. Stop making vroom vroom sounds and start making shop sounds again. We all need a HULK fix. Wake up and smell the grinder grit!

    huh? wha?
    oh, yeah, update...
not much to report, been pecking away at wiring, couple minutes here and there
    nothing exciting,
I found a transmitter for the 1/4 sweep tach, it should be here Monday.
High beam and turn indicator lights should get here before that.
got most of the gauges hooked up and working, all of them lit.
haven't quite figured out what, where and how for the front turn signals yet..

Nice dash layout. That picture looks kinda like a 50s sci-fi spaceship control panel.

The Golden Rocket should have a spaceship control panel, but I couldn't bring myself to put the correct gauges in..

There is without a doubt an Aviation connection to gauges monitoring everything and everything on The Rocket...that reaches back to WW11 perhaps even way earlier...planes, trains and automobiles...

That is a great collection. All you need to go with it is a weapons control box covered in blinking lights.

Tach swapped from mechanical to electric to work with the stock distributor,
    wiring nearing completion.
Just gotta secure the last couple runs and take it outside to fire it up to test the tach.

This is the diagram I use, posted in a hot rod mag. back in the sixties or seventies. Only difference is I use a relay for the horn, electric fuel pump and radiator fan if needed. Haven't lost any smoke yet!! 100_6630.JPG
