    The Blue Flame

    Happy Friday Hambers...

Anyone not familiar with Chryslerfan's Pickup might miss its striped, near ghosted flames with only a quick glance...this electronic inspiration sees these highlighted and several other mild custom mods added including the change of scenery...and the Happy Hamber Himself... @chryslerfan55

Thanks for your appreciation and the comradery over my years here... I like the Ole 56...Many times dreamed of one of those and had a near miss on a 55 Panel Delivery ...You mentioned once a color of choice for the flames...do you recall what that color was? See below...I did one in yellow to orange/red as well...found it...;)

Happy Friday everyone! Here's a Model A I just wrapped up for a customer. I dig the neon wheels. Copic markers and Micron pens on white sketch paper.

    upload_2021-11-5_4-31-0.png Fall harvest Orange/Black

    Hello,

Each month has its own aura. Last month it was the October Halloween colors. This month it is a continued Fall Harvest colors that still play in our minds. Somehow, the commercialism in advertisements happen to pass November’s Fall events, like Thanksgiving colors. Now it is time to keep that fall color idea going. But, we know it is a hard sell to go up against the Red/Green colors of the next month’s barrage. Although TV does play a part in influencing what we like and see.

In the late 1950's and early 1960's their live television car commercials dominated So Cal weekends. We were able to see them on our early very small screen TV that our dad first got for the family. Then as the screen sizes grew, it was like the show was filmed right inside of our living room on the Westside of Long Beach. At the time, it was pretty amazing what it looked like on TV, the shows and commercials.

Bob Yeakel along with his brothers were one of the area's biggest auto dealers. He and his brothers operated successful automobile and other businesses in Los Angeles area. He was president of Yeakel Plymouth in Downey and Compton.

The Yeakel Brothers were well known in So Cal automotive/drag racing circles since the very early days. Throughout the timeline, the racing cars were varied and they made a dent in the record books/trophy days at the local dragstrips.

The So Cal connection was associated with the Bixby Knolls group of McEwen/Bivens camp. As the years rolled by, the connection is still evident in the Cacklefest and Nitro Revival FED creations.

    No, not this IRIS...

So, what was the original color of the 32 coupe? Iris Purple
    upload_2021-11-5_4-43-8.png Bonneville edition
During the drag racing early years, the 32 Ford full fendered Iris Purple coupe was popular, as well as the Iris Blue roadster set up for Bonneville and the local drags.

  18. Gday Rob. Coupes of a feather..

Wow Jnaki. I'd love to hear a recreated Yeakel Cadillac. I love those OHV Cadillac mills, ever since I heard Colin Box's '56 Eldorado torque up from a standing start to cross over a humpy railroad crossing . Tri power and duals. Sounded like a dinosaur sigh.

Mornin' Steve (guess it's not morning there). Love your description of the sound of a tri-power Eldy mill... :)

  25. Looks like a thin show this week. Its noon and I might still make the first page.
Here's a quick sketch that I scanned and colorized in Paint.net ! BTW if any of you guys are looking for a low budget program that offers layering capabilities and some nice effects that's similar to Photoshop you should check out Paint.net. Its FREE !!
