Projects I'm building a steam powered Model A

It is not finished yet there are body panels to go on yet...and yes it harkened back to a very early time in auto evolution and would be cool to see him back on...

Ha, no...I didn't go boom. So far I have about 40 hours of steam-time and the car is getting better and better. No major issues besides snapping the crank in half This thing has a lot of torque!

The car was invited to be at the SEMA show (Thank you to Chemical Guys and Detail Garage!) this year so I took it Las Vegas last weekend to drop it off, then I'm heading back down to the show Thursday and Friday.

If you are at the show, look for us on Friday afternoon in the cruise.

Here's a short video of some progress on the car before the show. I still have to do more bodywork and stuff, but overall I'm happy with the project. I'm moving onto the next project soon, I think one per year matches my attention span.

 

Glad your back. That's a real work of art man and you are super talented. Great job and Hope to see more in the future.

Made it to SEMA and onto the Velocity Channel Live broadcast. Not many car builders ever get that far. Congratulations.

 

I just went through the entire thread, read all the posts. I did breeze through a few of the novel-like responses about how you will kill yourself and others.
At first I thought this was going to be quick, throw it together build, but no - you made it into a work of art. Congratulations!
I am impressed with the workmanship and the willingness to overcome some serious obstacles. Well done.
I look forward to what comes next. . .

Been 4 years, and this thread popped into my head this morning.

It looks like he hasn't been on since his last post in 2017.....

 

That’s probably a good thing.
Hopefully he’s not off somewhere healing from burns and skin grafts.
Needless to say I wasn’t a fan of this one.

 

He did say in his last post that he was moving onto the next project soon. With all the negativity that popped up in this thread, I don't blame him for putting the H.A.M.B. in his rearview mirror.

Absolutely, this thread was not in the vein of what the H.A.M.B. is about. But it was a cool proof of concept exercise if nothing else.
