That time of year again. Our Florida Dragstrip Riot nostalgia drags and show, will be October 29th and 30th. Posting this for all the Florida HAMB'rs and maybe some of you "Snow Birds" flying south a little early. All the info on our website. Florida Dragstrip Riot Swap meet and vendor spots still available, but time running out for registration. Hope some of you locals, can make it. Gets better every year. We've added Friday night to the event, with a live band (Big Jef Special) on stage around 9pm Friday. Kids 12 and under still free, so not a huge chunk of cash to bring the family. Feel free to get in touch with any questions. PM, text or just call. JT cell: 863-257-0363
Any Florida HAMB'rs left on this board? Doing our level best to promote this on many different avenue's. We are working hard to make this the premier nostalgia drag event in the SE. Not in it for the money, the track owner takes most of that. Just want a cool place for like minded people to hang out, once a year, down here. We get allot of feedback for the whole Pre-79 cut off (yes I know that's not HAMB friendly, but most of the cars are) But, from our experience there doesn't seem to be that many Pre-64 race cars that are willing to come. Always open to ideas and discussion. JT
If you want to draw a significant number of snow birds consider having the event post-Holiday Season. There will be less conflict with other holiday goings on and a larger group of damn Yankees to attract.
This date was given to us by the track owner. We've looked at other dates and what else is going on in Florida throughout the winter months. 1/4 mile tracks are in short supply here. Palm Beach Raceway recently got sold to Walmart. Gainesville would be a possibility, but Orlando is so centrally located. Part of the reason Walt Disney chose the city. This is the first year we are trying a 2 day event. If it doesn't work, there will be some serious thoughts on the future of the Florida Dragstrip Riot. Allot of work goes into this little deal and sponsor money not easy to come by. It's a Mom n Pop organization. Getting big sponsors and a committee involved could spoil the whole feel, we originally intended.

Found a few more in my camera. Remember them?? LOL This little Fiat was Show AND Go. History dating back to 1959. Richard Furness and his sone took home Best of Show award. Funny side note...They wound up buying my friend Eric's Slingshot Dragster, that he had for sale, parked next to them. Gonna be for the son to learn to drive in. How cool is that??
