Looks like some of those TROG cars may be trailered. Are there rules for trailered cars?

I would suspect not...I believe many are race only...

Explain this for me: Bias ply tires are mandatory, yet model A wheels are forbidden. Why?

  9. Just a guess but haven driven on a beach before the model a tires are too skinny you need a wide tire with low air pressure to not get stuck

    Thanks for the great pictures.

We were down for the weekend and the weather could not have been better. I've said it before that this hobby is more about the friends you make than the cars themselves, and one of the things I love about this event in particular is that it brings in people from all over the country. It was great catching up with friends from Michigan, California, Ohio, New York... and then some.

Here's a pic of me and my car (a rarity) I stole from Scott (Lucky77), who's always strong with the camera. Apparently the guy at the gate mistook this car for a dune buggy. Hilarity ensued.

  19. Would be great to go there some year. Kind of encroaches on the harvest season, which is how we try to make part of our living. Looks like this was the year to be there, keep the great pics coming.

  20. Did you have to bring mobile crane to remove all that Detroit iron from the sand? upload_2021-10-5_9-24-10.png

Great pics. That woody boat tail is insanely cool.

Had a buddy send me some bad phone videos of racing in the sand there. Looked fun.

Haha, luckily there were about 8 dudes there who helped push me back towards where they had run a front end loader to compact the sand. Then when I was on the harder (but still very loose) sand, some photographer stood right in front of me as I was driving straight at him to take a picture, but I was carrying momentum with no chance of stopping, so I blew the horn at him and he scrambled. But everyone was getting stuck so I didn't feel alone in that regard. Makes for a good story

  23. I barely dodged getting stuck, i had my 39 on the sand as well. man that stuff was loose Sat Morning. we pushed 3 or 4 cars to get them moving again.

My wife and I made the trek from Central Illinois this year. We were only there Saturday, but I’m bit by the bug. Sold my Tudor earlier this year. Time for a roadster!

Kudos to the TROG organizers, what a great bunch of guys. Couldn't have asked for better planning and management. First time attendee and race participant and plan on returning next year. Great bunch cars and people here from all over the country. Oregon, Calif., Texas Florida , Virginia, Minn. etc. and of course the North East. Had an absolute blast wringing out the roadster.( and to think I was going to sell the car) Car has an honest 400 miles on it and I was a bit tentative driving it on Saturday. Driving sand is an experience unique to it's self and I actually had no idea how the car would handle or stop at speed in the sand. In so much the engine is new I kept the rpm under 4200 on Saturday but Sunday I pushed it to about 5000rpm. The car is street driven and held it's own against race prepped cars so I'm happy and fortunately didn't break anything! Now if I only would stop missing second gear and even find a way of getting into third gear before running out of real estate...LOL Definite bucket list item for all HAMB enthusiasts

This year was my second time attending. It's my kind of beach vacation.
