Event Coverage 1933 3 window auction result

Just watched a bare 33 3 window with one front fender and frame go for 48,000.
32 3 window...36,000

 

Do you know what the 29 roadster went for? Last night it was at 50 cents.

 

I will check my sheet in morning. The unfinished 34 roadster went for 54,000

 

This one? Looks like $2900

 

That's a fair but higher than I expected. I think I'll stick with the one I got from you

 

The 3 window price blew me away, never expected that.

 

What auction are you fellows referring to? What kind of condition
was the 32 3 window in?

 

Was that the auction in North Dakota? If so wonder what the Vicky brought.

 

I had been going over the catalog about 10 days before the auction started. I don't have room for another project but it's always fun to daydream. I was shocked by the final bids for the 3 window coupes, but thought some of the 34 sedan prices were OK especially when you consider the value of the extra pieces that were stashed inside the bodies. Wished I could have been there in person, but then I probably would have lost my will power. Hope to see some of these treasures reappear as projects here on the HAMB.

 

20,000 for the Vicky. Was there from start to finish.

 

Can someone tell me how to see the results? Also how much of say a 48,000 sale goes to the original seller and how much to the auction company. Thanks. I am new to auctions.

Thanks IronFord. Just thinking those 3w's were field cars that he picked up for very little money years ago. Times have changed.

 

I thought I saw that a body and frame with some parts laying inside it sold for $7000 also

 

A few really big prices there, but also a handful of real bargains too. That '34 Ford truck was very complete and had damn nice looking doors on it for only $1500, and choice of a '40 Ford convertible or coupe project that looked very buildable for $7K each. Some of the sedans didn't seem bad at all, either.

 

The deal of the day was a complete 32 four door that sold for 8500.

 

Some guy came through the gate and clipped the project 40 convertible on the left rear fender. Saw remains of fender in back seat after accident. Not sure the offender stopped.

 

The 53 f600 went for 500. It had nice sheet metal, was a custom cab, and had a y block transplant.

 

Some of those big trucks were dirt cheap like 1952henry said, and I do agree with IronFord that the '32 4 door was a damn good deal. Even if you wanted to build a coupe, that car with a couple of repop panels would have built a nice complete '32 5w for really reasonable money.

Shame about that '40 convertible getting messed up.

I think the most shocking result is how much some of those old signs and gas pumps went for. Granted, I have some of that stuff myself and I like it, but the prices paid were incredible. Never would have guessed it.

That's right and the online photos didn't begin to show just how beat up the passenger side was. I thought a lot of the people there were just itching to be big spenders. the prices paid for some of the parts cars amazed me. I bid on a few of the cars and bodies but came away with nothing

Squablow, remember things generally look better in pictures. That 40 cpe needed a lot of help. Drivers door was rusted completely off the bottom hinge, tailpan was just a straight piece of tin welded to the body and that's just for starters

I was really surprised by the 34 truck grill and hood that sold for 2300 bucks.

 

Don't you mean $4,800 and $3,600 I know things look better in pictures, just look at my wife, what was I thinking.

For F$cks sake I can't even sell my 1936 Ford Banjo steering wheel on here for less than what they sold it for at that auction.

Anybody know what the 2 -32 Tudors brought and the 32 Fordor that was made into a pickup?

The 32 Fordor made into a pickup (the one with the grill) sold for 4200 I think. Not sure on the other one

 

It appears that some people have unlimited money to spend. You can buy semi-finished cars for less money.
