I sure hope you're kidding about this. This modest (I use the term with great respect) build has been an inspiration to many of us.

I would hate to see it end

Plus, on may way down to Florida this fall, when I stop to see my family in New Orleans, I was kind of hoping that I could take a 30 mile detour and go for ice cream with you in the Pontiac.

Thoughts are with you and so many facing the wrath of the bitch when she wants to be...Mother Nature

Man that's a sad situation...hard to like so much of what you're sharing...fingers crossed it works out that things can be brought back......yes the family's good but a chunk of your heart is been torn...what a loo loo of a storm that has been...such devastation...

I don't want to sell it. But, it may come to that to cover the insurance.
This fall, there still won't be anything much to come to down the bayou.

If so, it won't be the last one.

I'm glad it's been something enjoyable and informative. That's what this place is meant to be about, right?

Sorry about your property and your rides.
    I've really enjoyed this thread.
But, the family is safe so that's the important part.
Best of luck to you with all the mess you are going to have to deal with.

I wish I were close enough to help you half as much as you have helped me with my 50.

Chainsawed the car out of the remnants of the garage.

That's a bit of a mess but less than I thought it would be.

    20210908_152733.jpg
    That's pretty ugly.

    20210908_152741.jpg
    That'll beat straight.

Found the visor, it blew under the car. Still good.

    20210908_152836.jpg
Rest of the car is just scratches and other small dents.

I had intended to check with you close to cruisin the coast and see if you was going to make cruisin the coast this year and hopefully meet up and see this car. Of course, that was my thought before the storm. Reading your latest comments....cruisin the coast would be a good place to advise the car..... just an idea.

I would love to go. We'll have to see.

    Phil

Edit: Funnily, we are staying with friends not far from Biloxi right now.

  15. Phil it's hard to hit a like button on any of this. I can't imagine brother. You have busted your ass on that car. And to get kicked in the guts like this is, for lack of a better term, bullshit. I'm hurting for ya man.

Phil, I'll be passin' through in the end of October. It looks like you're about 30 miles from where my daughter lives, so I'm gonna check with you when I'm there. If I can stop by, just to say "Hello", I think I can make a 60 mile "detour"..

    Keep on keepin' up!:)

Just think what it would have looked like if that was a new car! I had a 50 Pontiac parts car behind my shop on jack stands when hurricane Michael came through Oct 10th, 2018. A very large pine tree fell toward my shop but hit the parts car and rolled toward the back sparing my shop. It didn't even fall off the jack stands! And here's a newer car that a pine tree fell on during another storm. 20170103_082958.jpg 20181015_130113a.jpg 20181015_130145a.jpg DSCN1505a.jpg

Sure thing, let me know when you're headed this way. Hopefully by then we'll be a little better situated.

I surprised how minimal the damage was and glad to see that. Could have been much worse

Haven't managed to do anything to the car since dumping it on the driveway.
Monsoon style rain got the house leaking again, so nearly gave myself sunstroke putting more tarps up. House stinks damp, funky.

Passenger side front turn signal is half full of water. I guess the bottom part of the seal I made works...

Still watching Phil. Sounds like you've had your "fill" of rain. Sorry to hear it. Oh, just turn that parking light upside down.......Keep smiling & jang in there!

First dry day in ages. Started the car up and it ran well after being ornery. It really doesn't like sitting. Walloped the inside of the hood and the big dent mostly popped out.
Roof not so much. Head lining needs to come out to try remedy that.

Before you go to all the trouble of removing the headliner try the dry ice technique. Lots of youtubes on it. Search for hail damage dry ice repair or similar.

You apply the dry ice in a circle around the dent and If I remember correctly the dent pops out when the ice cools the metal and it contracts.

Certainly worth a try, thanks! It's quite a dent though, I'm not sure if it'll pull itself out.
Plus, the only place that sold it locally was destroyed by the storm so I'll have to wait until somewhere reopens that has it in.

Yeah, lots of work ahead. Need to get the house cleaned up and move back in.

The Plymouth is still buried, I made a start on breaking down the remains of the roof that's blocking me from pulling the wall up; that's slow going by hand.

I might be able to bring the car to Cruising The Coast this weekend, possibly be able to drive it out here Thursday.

There's a lot going on between then and now, but it's a possibility.

If any of y'all are out here this week let me know.
