  1. Custom Edsel's? Why not! I ran across this picture this morning... Have you got any? Mild to wild...

My dad had a 58 Corsair when I was a kid. It had a couple of interesting idiosyncrasies.
Naturally when I grew up I had to have one, an Edsal that is as I have enough idiosyncrasies.
I always thought that the 58s looked cool, the 59 and 60 models not so much.
My wife thinks that they all are ugly and so I don't currently own one, sigh.

  7. Can’t have an Edsel thread without Floyd Dutton’s (now Dan Shea’s) wagon. It is too kool and has been all over the country!

In 58 Dad ws car shopping and brought a Citation home with "the big engine". Was trading his 56 Carribean in & wanted some power. He nailed it from a dead stop & SMOKED the tires. Mom said " you are NOT getting this car. I've wanted one ever since.

Not so much a custom, but i have a buddy's '58 Edsel Villager wagon at my house that im working on for him. Mildly built 460 with a C6, but its mostly been a refresh/rebuild on everything since its been off the road since 1968 and any rubber or moving parts are pretty trashed, along with repairing some of the more offensive rust and holes in it.

  14. This puts me in the mind of one of the Russian built limos ("parade cars") that you occasionally see pictures of. They were obviously based on and looked quite a bit like one or more American designed cars. But they were always called "Zils" or "Brenzkys" or some other unpronounceable name with no vowels. This stretched Edsel, however, looks better than any of them.

My Dad used to have an accountant who always had an Edsel. I mostly remember that he had a turquoise '58, and I vaguely recall another one in his garage.
