I drove a renter (Canadian Hot rod tour) from Toronto ON to Victoria BC for Deuce Days picking up quite a few hot rods along the way for the trip west. I'd have loved to have driven my car cross country, maybe in the future?

Three trips to El Mirage, one cruise to reunion in Famoso, once to LARS, once to TROG at Pismo Beach, then the Bayou Roundup in Lafayette, LA from San Antonio in our Deuce roadster. Don't know the exact mileage but the westbound trips were five days each way. We're old and our backs don't agree with the Deuce's short wheelbase. Maybe one more long-winded cruise left for us.

I have driven my coupe 6,700 miles since 8/6/2020 (the date the new tires were put on). Covid has slowed me down!
We caught the 1st car show of the year in Summerset KY in early June, somewhere around 900 miles one way, but we were on a 2200 mile vacation. We will be doing the St Louis Hot Rod 100 in Sept, that is 256 miles from home, the 100 mile + cruise, then another 256 miles home in my 49 Dodge pickup. That will be its 1st trip of more then 100 miles from home. Two weeks after that, its off to Council Bluffs Iowa, 627 miles from home in the coupe.

We cruised around for 200 miles this weekend, and didn't even go anywhere. Any excuse to go for a drive in one of the hot rods is good. Gene

A "few" years back, friend and I drove his Model A, pickup from east of L.A. to Fallon Nevada (about 950 miles) to watch some drag racing.

Through nice weather, though rain, and yeah, finally through some snow to get there. As I recall, most of the way home was nice weather.
    Fun trip altogether.
He may chime in here too.

The longest run I've done in one of my hobby cars is right at 270 one way,( Back to the 50's) 25/100 regularly to shows/cruise inn's due to where I live and will say as the years have raced by I'm by attending fewer events, still enjoy cruising. Now in my 70's, keeping myself busy, but don't accomplish much as everything seems to take me forever, still enjoy the satisfaction of DIY after completion, during, not so much anymore, the fun has just become work. Thinking on this subject, 8 years seemed to be my time frame of keeping hobby cars with exception of OT hobby cars, now one at 32 years, another at 10 years, these 2 are what I'm finishing it out with.

Forgot to add, shortened return trip when the deer hit us. Had to go back with a trailer to get it, lucky it was only a couple hours from home.

Before the lockdowns, I drove to York for 25 years; usually 650-700 miles round trip plus running around York for 5 days.:)
I've also been to the show down in Dawsonville, GA for Moonshine Festival.. probably 1,300 miles or so total including the running around Dawsonville and going to the Pool Room.;):D
Once went to Sturbridge, MA for the big event up there... boy was a southern boy a fish out of water up there:eek: but had a great time and met some neat folks and saw many, many cars I hadn't seen before besides in a magazine.:) Probably 1,400 total miles... man they have some BIG potholes up there!!! And they tried to put them between the lights in the tunnels!!:D
Longest and neatest trip was the 6,000 mile round trip to the LARS in 2016... made me wish I'd been going to that one for 25 years!! Fantastic trip and met some fantastic people.:)

I’ve done a few long runs including Rt66 with the NSRA OKC event along the way and a show in Rapid City followed by visiting Devil’s Tower, Yellowstone, and Livingston Montana before heading home to Illinois.
All in all been fortunate enough to have traveled to events/ rod runs in 17 states and adding vacation miles before and after some of them.
You know you’re traveling when you’re doing laundry and an oil change before you return home.;)

The longest one I did in my 31 pickup was from metro Detroit to St Paul Minnesota for the 1989 Street Rod Nats (700 miles one way). My Dad went with me, so we swapped driving. It’s a long way in such a tiny cab, but an awesome trip. Went out around Chicago, came back thru the upper peninsula. Took out a small deer in the UP, luckily no damage to the pickup.

We drove our '46 Ford Station Wagon from Long Island, NY to Encinitas, CA and back to a Woodie show called "Wavecrest", 6700 miles. Can't wait to do it again.

I just got my A on the road last fall and have been driving it a fair bit - still tinkering with little things of course. So far our longest trip was a little over 200 miles as a shakedown run prior to driving to Hotrodarama. The Hotrodarama was about 150 miles one way and my wife drove the A while I followed in the RV. Hope to put many miles on it, as I built it to drive it. I only have about 2,000 on it now.

Most of my car friends nearby don’t drive their cars very far or very often. It’s clear that’s not the case with HAMBers!

When I get mine running it's going to be baby steps for a long time. I'm to afraid of getting 4-5 hours out of town and then having to pay out the ass to get hauled back home.

  28. 4 years ago a group of us logged about 3000 miles going to 2 events back to back in about 12 days. A week ago we (some of the same group) went 510 miles round trip to attend a couple of guys swap meet (really we just went for a visit), and a visit with another friend along the way.

The miles don't matter so much, an event can be 30 miles away or a thousand. It's always a blast driving to and from but the people at the destination and those along for the ride are really what matters.

  29. Oklahoma City to Memphis and back, about 1000 miles round trip, in July, in a spare parts collection roadster.
Of course that was 35 years ago and at least 40 lbs.

Last month I drove my T-Bucket from Florida to Michigan and back for my high school auto program reunion/car show. 1300 miles each way. I only had two significant rain delays. My wife rode with me on the return trip, and we are still married, lol.
