Some of us like to build them, some like to drive them, some like to do both. How far do we drive one-way to events (I know some don’t attend, but we have to start somewhere)?

How far is it to Kalamazoo, from southeast Arizona? I think it's close to 2000. In a couple weeks. In the little red Chevy II.

  3. Most recent trip in the old beater was about 227 one way.

We drove the wagon 797 miles to Novi, Michigan a few years ago, drove straight through, broke it up coming home. HRP

Not unusual for me to go 120+ miles to an event. Have to admit I always feel better when I get back within 100 miles due to my Triple A coverage.

Google says it was 675 miles one way. Panacea Fl. to Louisville.

I just did a "long" trip, for me anyway, to the Frog Follies. First trip over 40 miles from home in my T roadster. It was overdue. Per Google mapping it was about 170+ miles one way. With running around Evansville, the whole trip was probably 380-ish miles. I must say the trip built up my confidence in the car and I will have much less hesitation to do a longer drive again. Now if weather forecasts were just more accurate........

I drive mine almost anywhere I'd drive my daily drivers. I just enjoy being behind the wheel of my old cars, so I put a lot of miles on them!

I just got back from Frog Follies. It was 600 miles one way for me. 1270 since I left Thursday morning. My 41 Plymouth made the trip pretty comfortably. Earlier this year, I drove it to Nashville (900 round trip) and got side swiped on the way home. Just got it back on the road a couple of weeks ago. 41 Plymouth Front fenders are not easily or quickly found.

I build my cars to drive them on road trips.

My longest trips in the Y Brock coupe were to TROG 1344 mile round trip, 2074 miles to the Lonestar Round Up in Austin, then in October I will drive it to the Gathering at the ROC in Oklahoma 1542 miles round trip. So far the longest trip in the roadster was the 275 miles I drove home from where I bought it, but in the 9 months I've had it I have driven it over 4000 miles.

Almost 1,200 miles to Lead Ain't Dead 2020 - via parts of old US 666 (AZ) and RT 66. Return trip was a little shorter.

I put 30-90 miles, but I think it was actually around 100 miles from here to Tupelo MS. That was the farthest I ever drove it with the SBC, and came back home with little rear brakes and a bad axle bearing. So far with the SBF, I've put a grand total of 6 miles on it. Don't trust the 10 year old tires on it, and most events around here have seemed to be cancelled again this year. Just gives me more time to finish the stuff I want to do anyway...

Photo_2021-08-29_211808 (3).jpg My longest trip was from Sioux Falls to Pomona for the Fathers Day Roadster show. 1700 miles one way in a 40 Chevy sedan. About 3600 total with some sight seeing on the way back.

Currently trying to get my car road-ready for a 700 mile run next year but it's slow on a fixed income and a tight budget. Last two 50 mile runs produced tire and shock problems that I addressed. Have to get it sealed well and temp controlled better before driving long haul through changing weather. Not too concerned about drivetrain.

Couple of years ago, wife & I drove our 37 Chevy Sports Coupe with a 235 cid engine, from Rochester, N.Y. to Rapid City, S.D. on a tour. Went on into Wyoming on a side trip. 2300 miles round trip.

hey, can boast all we want for distance - but, there are long haulers out there that have over 200,000 miles driving to events - sometimes that best events are local

  26. I don’t go to all that many events, but the ones I do go to are all more than 100 miles away. Heck, I have driven to St. Louis twice in my 56 just to drive in one of our 100 mile driving events... If I ever get around to rebuilding my motor and transmission, I would like to do some long trips in the 56.

  28. I used to drive my roadster 500 to 1000 miles to events no problem. I could never understand trailers. Don't have the interest to drive that far now, but if I had the urge I wouldn't hesitate.

Anyone know a NSRA Rep named Harley Alcox or Alcot? I saw his T Bucket at a show this year and it had a sign on it that said it had gone over 440K to events around the country.
