Really dig the look of this car but those have to be the smallest hairpins I've ever seen.

Yep, you just can't see it. Stand in front of a mirror next time you say it.

Square roll bars were popular on the East Coast. Maybe because so much of the aircraft industry was situated on the West coast right after the war it was easier to get round mandrel benders out West.

Ron Williams was the pilot of this one. He's still in the Akron area and going strong.

    Nanook Day :)

    3 nanook1a.jpg

Owner said this version had no reverser and it took so long to burnout then push it back the tiny fuel tank was dry
    3 nanook1c tank too small.jpg

    3 nanook1d tank too small.jpg
So this new square type larger capacity tank was added
    3 nanook1e big tank.jpg

This version was the first with the engine as low as possible because the new dragster type tires made the nose high attitude unnecessary any more. And it WORKED it won a bunch before the other teams caught on and made the switch to low engines.

As it sat in World of Speed Museum which is now closed down :(

  17. Ok...I don't know everything but this looks like an injected car - is B/A for injected or engine size or what ?

AA/FA is a blown fuel altered, AA/A is a blown altered on alcohol, BB/A is injected on fuel, B/A is injected on alcohol.

If I remember correctly, at my age, I don't remember breakfast.

I think AA/FA is indeed blown fuel.
AA/A is blown but on gas .
    A/A is unblown on Gas
BB/A is blown on gas but with a higher weight break ( more pounds per cubic inch than AA/A).
B/A is unblown on gas but with a higher weight break ( more pounds per cubic inch than A/A).

Many modern nostalgia events allow the substitution of alky instead of gas. Indeed many AA/Gassers use alky.

  20. Thanks.......
