Is anybody going down to Pikes Peak Raceway in Fountain for this show on August 27-28, 2021? I’ve never been to it before but it looks like fun. I want to hit the swap meet. Hopefully there will be a good showing.

It is like a car show in a prison yard
fenced in,all asphalt,no grass or trees.

I’ve been going since the first show, it’s a great time with music and a lot of different events. You can run your car on the 1/8 mile drag strip and cruise around the track. The swap meet has been hit and miss over the years but all and all it’s a good show. I always take my grand kids and they love it. My granddaughter at the show two years ago. One of the stages is right above the start line of the drag strip . 7845C0D7-FBF2-4DB3-A948-28408CAD43D9.jpeg 025B8C8C-7D09-4300-BE50-265AA496F705.jpeg 786A140A-5A6A-4270-855B-889F3B64F97C.jpeg E15B58BB-A5F4-4937-9300-7D9D7AD07E9D.jpeg

I have been in Colorado for 30 years, and am embarrassed to say I have never been. I will check this out! Thanks for
    posting this. Bob

Thanks e1955v, sounds like a good time. Killer vette BTW!

The surroundings do look pretty sparse.

It is but it can't be any worse than going to something like Good Guys at the Charlotte Motor Speedway or to a show at any super speedway. They used to have it at the end September but then they had to worry about rain or snow so they moved it to this date. Bring a popup canopy if you have one, last year it went from hot to monsoon rains on Saturday. Thank you for the complement on the Corvette, I'm not your "typical Corvette nose in the air stereotype" I drive the hell out of it, I may be called an asshole by some but its not because of the Corvette;):p. 14. I wanted to go. The motel rates in Pueblo and the Springs are way higher than they have been. Everything has a value in life. :)

They have on site camping if you are up for that. Get gas in Pueblo or Fountain before you get to the track in case you decide race all day or drive around the track all day. The drag racing is not timed it's race who you want or whoever is next to you when you get to the line, It's just for fun, anybody can race. Bands playing all day if your into that, and plenty of food vendors. Take your own food and drink or pay vendor price. The swap meet gets bigger every year. It's a great show. I think there was over 800 cars last year. It gets bigger every year. I will be in the swap meet with a 27 Roadster for sale, come by and say Hi! Oh by the way RUSTY come by and see me I have something I want to give you.

The only restrictions are for cars that run faster than a time that they have set. You might bring one anyway but I have never had to use one ( my car is to slow);)

Sold almost everything i had today, Bout the only thing I have left to get rid of are 2 cars, And there are several people interested. It's a good day in the neighborhood. Tomorrow we will enjoy the racing and cruise around the car show.

I just got back from the show. I live 4 miles from PPIR and it wasn't worth the drive let alone the $30 entry fee.

Sorry it didn't work out for you. It is an expensive event, 2 swap spaces 1 car show registration 1 camping spot $190. But I had a great time. Sold all the parts I took and 1 car. Watched my grandson race all weekend, saw lots of old friends, got sunburned:mad:. The only bad thing for me was NSRA in Albuquerque was this weekend also and I wanted to go to it also.

I didnt take many pics. was busy playing on the drag strip and overheating my car. Impressed the crap out of myself with 11 of 12 victories in the drags. re ran the guy that beat me twice, and got him the other 2 times.

Poorly organized show, lots of room for improvement. But.... I had a damned good time.
