Was a ton of fun! Definitely going to do this again and take a whole day or two - here are the pictures I took in between rubber necking at all the ratrods, speed runs, and cool rides!

The radio stream is going well. They are currently in a race delay playing some historical stuff.

 

What is the delay about?

 

Debris. A spin, crash or blown engine.

 

Trent any idea what Timmy ran? Saw he was in the lanes about half an hour ago didn’t know if he’d run yet

 

Still in staging, Long Course. Did not run yesterday, found water in oil.

At approximately 11:15 a.m. Mountain Time today, driver Lloyd Halsey, age 81, lost control of his land speed vehicle at 212.389mph. Lloyd was treated by medical professionals at the scene and transported by ambulance to Life Flight and flown to University Hospital in Salt Lake City.
The cause of the incident is currently under investigation.

now another delay, prayers

 

I did not see the incident but heard it was a spin that turned into an end over end tumble. Not good. They have been running since then but there have been a few fires causing short delays. Speed Demon burned up his wiring harness from a small engine fire this morning from what I heard.

Radio back on, Course 3 clear to run. Long course has 35+ cars in line. Several packing up to run in the AM. You CAN leave your car in line for the morning

 

And... 182 today! As I understand it, they can go for the gusto next.

 

5PM, due to wind and lack of ambulances the day is shut down to runs. Back tomorrow for about 10-12 record runs to start the day. Sounds like about 4-5 hours was lost due to incidents. If the EMS is transporting someone there is simply not enough ambulances to run. Like any race venue.

Most of my stuff came from boots on the ground, friends.

 

Yeah, it was a bad day out here accident wise. All 4 ambulances were tied up.

We are sitting waiting to head into town and just watched Vesco pull through headed out to the salt. I had heard they had engine problems and would not be attending.

 

444? The yellow car just got an ELECTRIC motor.

 

Yep. It was yellow. Is that the old car? That will be cool to see.
