Hot Rods '36, going against my ways

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by 36 Vick, Nov 12, 2014.

  1. One more fan from down here.... This one has changed my mind on "Fenderless Fat", from "maybe" to "yes". That grille is turning out fine...

You do see it much more than a 36 with the fenders left off. So even if it started as a 36, and there are no fenders , it's not a fender less 36. It sure would be a lot less work and a lot less cool to keep the fenders on it and just be a 36 ford. It's something else now. Everyplace you look there's something cool and won't fit in the box.
They say everything has been done before, well I think this build challenges that statement. Not many do.

I’m a little late. But I will share with all what a great wife I have. Amidst all the different photos taken for a Christmas card, I requested to use the one we took in front of the 34. By requesting, I gave up all future rights for requests. My fingers were crossed though

I hope you all have a great 2018[IMG]

Yep, this one is in a league all its own, all together different than many we've seen prior.

You're welcome, I'm watching with an open mind. Looking forward to see where you take this.
I used to not like bobber or fenderless trucks too until one example on here (the one with the lift off top, I believe it was a 37) changed my mind.
That along with a red oxide primered one that came up for sale here locally :D (which I almost purchased)

As I said earlier I am appreciating your fabrication skills.

Looks like the new front end is going to really change and improve on the previous version. Add another one watching

I just found this thread... I saw the initial pictures and thought "Blegh"....

I then went down towards the end and look at the most recent pictures.
Woah!!! I will say, you changed my mind. I think it's killer! Not only is the car killer, but the work seems too notch. Keep pluckin along, this is gonna be pretty dang cool.

Glad to see progress, you really are scratch building am amazing Hot Rod! The way you have the front of the chassis swooping past that awesome grill looks great.
And adding to the front of the doors must take a lot of vision (or paper templates )
    Following with great interest.
    Cheers Aaron.

This is in reply to lowcoe asking for updates. See guys, the relationship is just moving slow and I have needs. Most of you would understand. Hopefully, I can be out of the shop by late spring, early summer.

Give me a week or so. Those pictures are a quick mock up of the parts. I’m doing some remodeling in the shop right now. Soon, I’ll be in the T build

I love it. It runs great. It handles great. It’s idle in traffic sounds so cool.

It’s for sale now. Only for the reason that I found another car and I can have it all.

It still sits and waits. I picked up a 5 speed transmission. That’s it. No more fabrication at all.
So I built that lil modified T, I’ve been enjoying the most out of that. It is for sale now.
In December I picked up a 33 Roadster. I’m making some refinements to it currently. Once I start driving it, I will go back to the 36.

I look forward to that, you really have a wild machine coming together. Well at least you have asome options for entertainment so you won't tire of the same old thing that's for sure.

@36 Vick, I was just snooping around at fenderless late 30s Fat fenders and bumped into your build here. Any more progress on the 36?...no pressure just curious. Hope all is well...;)

    Good afternoon

I have done some mock up and preliminary design of the torsion bar front suspension with inboard shocks.
I also tacked in the 33/34 cowl on one side to give me an idea of the door line.

Not the progress I should have made. I did the 33 roadster, now onto a 32 window. Building a pinched n bobbed chassis for that at the moment.
