Technical THE ONE PIECE THAT ELUDES YOU

I have not been able to locate a good or restorable or any for that matter pair of Fulton (feathers)1936 ford hood trim at the front that makes the grill appear to continue into the top of the hood.I ve seen them on others cars ,ran wanted adds but so far nothing.

 

A primary chevy wcfb for a 57 Corvette dual quad setup that does not cost an arm and a leg. Scored a intake and secondary carb a couple years ago, but missing the primary. Cannot find a suitable carb to put the setup together to put in my 33 pickup.

 

Back when I was dirt tracking and was much younger and dumber, that was about the first thing that got thrown in the scrap metal pile. When I was looking for one for for my 55 Sedan Delivery, I found out just exactly how much money I'd thrown away over the years. Is the primary different than a single WCFB?

 

technically yes they are different, but you can make a single 4 carb work with the duals, I am being a little picky to have at least the same year carb to go with the secondary carb. Big thing is that its a Chevy carb, I bought a wcfb off a desoto and yeah not the same at all.

 

How close is this one

 

thats a later carb, the fuel inlet is larger on the later carbs with the fitting screwed in,
this is the correct fuel inlet for a 57

i was looking for a wcfb or 4 jet for an early intake I had and that carb popped up.

 

Years ago when I was restoring a 34 Ford I never found the hot air factory heater for it...

 

yeah the inlets changed around 59/60 on Chevy carbs I believe

I bought my 1948 Austin A40 Dorset back in 1977. I started working on it but put it in storage after a couple of years. About 4 years ago I took it out of storage and started working on it again. In 1978 I had taken the driver's chrome door trim off as I was planning on sanding the door and primer it. That door trim has been missing since 1978. The Dorset is a 2-door and much rarer than a Devon 4-door and I have been looking for a replacement door trim for 42 years with no luck. Last summer I was looking for something in my dad's garage and I found the missing door trim under a pile of unrelated parts on a shelf!

I bought this cool piece of1942 Ford trunk bezel trim for my 47, but apparently, there is a size and shape difference between the standard trunk lever bezel and the one that fits this trim.

 

Have you ever checked these guy's out?, I know it's a reproduction but hard to bet the price and have one that is cast from the original piece. HRP

No problem finding the elusive parts I'd love to have for a couple builds. The problem is coughing up the money needed to pay for them!

 

A set of mickey thompson super scavanger headers. They were orange with a long square collector. I need them for a big block chevy for a serious day two build.

 

Everyone wants to buy reasonable, but do you sell the unattainable parts you have reasonable ?

 

A Fordomatic shift column with shift detent thats not worn completely out... ..I've bought five and not one of them is useable..

 

I think most of us are looking to be in the right place at the right time. But to answer your question, I never knew I had an unattainable part until after I sold it or gave it away. Lol.

 

The little clips that holds the rubber that shields the rear license plate light on a 53 Mainline. Have two, need 5.

I would give up both kidneys and go on dialysis to get my mickey thompson headers.
