Hello! Welcome to Mart's Garage Road trip Div. The event we honestly thought would never happen. The VHRA Hot Rod Races on Pendine Beach! Hoorah! This is part one of a 2 part video. Many thanks to Trevor for collecting video footage on my behalf. It made a massive difference. Can I give a big shoutout for Neil who worked tirelessly to make this happen, aided by the Sidewinders. A fantastic achievement all round. Thanks guys. So sit back, relax and join Mart, the 33 and the Crusty Flatty on the Pendine Races Roadtrip (TM). Wow Mart! The Crusty Flatty sounds great, and the whole car seems smooth and quiet. Well done! Thanks for taking us along.
Wow what great coverage - the drive out....dang those English streets are narrow - the meet and great with MAN you got a lot of good cars over there and the run on the sand. Loved you guys all trying to make the one RPU make a go of it with some spring massaging. Just looks like some great good fun over there ! And o'crusty sure took a beating - you didn't let up on having fun ! Thanks for sharing !
Yeah Marty, Steve finally built a proper 301" engine for the old hot rod. He's got her setting records again! Makin' me proud.
I just put up part 2. Dean, I snagged the footage off Nicks video showing the roadster pickup. He gave me permission to use it in my video. Mart.
When you have time some time I would love to hear the full story of my favorite RPU! (Maybe a dedicated thread????)How long ago did you sell it? And how did it end up in England??
There is a story on the car in the Jalopy Journal. Been there about 12 years. The complete story on the car was printed in Hop Up Vol. 12 No. 1. I told the US part of the car's history, and Steve told how he acquired the car (in pieces) the car's story in England.
! I forgot about the hop up feature. I’ll have to check it out. Thanks! Looks like a great time @Mart! Thanks for posting!
Only issue I can determine , your on the wrong side of the road ! . Great job , Mart ! The Ole Coupe is as nice as it gets .
There are things that would be unusual either way for drivers...they looked very fitting to every landscape...And of Course the Greatness of Across the Pond Excellence... The closest I get to that is Highway Fast lane or One Way Streets...
