Event Coverage The Few CC Vancouver Island reliability run

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Jalopy Kid, Jul 4, 2021.

  1. Here are some photos from the reliability run on Vancouver Island last weekend.
13 cars braved the 37*C (98*F) heat to make the 207km run from Duncan BC, along the famous “Renfrew Loop” ending at the historic 4 Mile Pub in Victoria.

That’s awesome. I would definitely have been there for that one if I could find a place to live on the island.
The search isn’t going so well so far.

  13. Didn't say I didn't believe it, having been there in the summer a couple times, it's just hard to imagine.

Temps were way too high all over the PNW last week setting several new all time records.
That looks like a fun road trip. Right number of cars and people with interesting stops along the way.
33.3 miles plus a few more for side trips would get me to the Stonehenge monument down at Maryhill from my place. Duncan to 4 mile pub.png

Looks like a great event and a nice route? Maybe one day I'll remortgage my house and take the Ferry over!

By the way is there any more news on Deuce Day next year?

  16. It was a really great day. I think I found all the weak spots in the new Truck! Suspension clearance badly needed! Haha

  18. 33.3 miles if you take the main highway. We took the scenic “Renfrew Loop” and stretched it out over 6 hours
No cell service from lake Cowichan to Sooke, and Port Renfrew just got its first gas pump a couple years ago.

    Fun times...HOT...funtimes...

Silver lining is the Ole Hotrods definately reach operating temperature and probably perform very well...traffic jams not so much...but it looks like that wasn't a problemo in Beautiful BC...the gas! the gas!...

Thanks for sharing the goodtimes @Jalopy Kid

It doesn’t usually get that hot in the Pacific North west it’s usually milder weather year round.

5 years or so ago my son moved to Seattle for a new job. He rented an apartment close to work so he could walk but he was concerned about the weather. Everyone told him, yes, it rains but is more like a mist and if it snowed it was just flurries. Well the first winter it rained sideways more days than not. And as far as snow goes, the entire city shut down on more than one occasion due to snow. Hopefully after the recent heat wave things will get back to more normal weather.
