Alan Johnson has purchased all of Walkers equipment and moved it to Gasden Al. It will be named Johnson's Radiator Works as Vernon will not let him use the Walker name at this time. Alan is still trying to get him to let him use the Walker name. Alan hopes to be building radiators late this year.

Hopefully he'll have enough skilled workers to operate the equipment so the quality won't suffer.

  4. So there will be two high quality radiator shops in one town. Cool.

Just how late this year? I wish he had them NOW! I'm frustrated how to get the radiator I bought (that was supposed to fit) into my Model A radiator shell and on the car without the hood being all wonky.

  11. This is great news, I have no doubt in my mind Alan Johnson will produce a product equal to what we have come to expect from Walker Radiators long standing quality control. HRP

@lake_harley Ya beat me to it! Could there be a better word to describe good news about a quality radiator supplier? I think not.

This is great news for the hobby, an essential product of very high quality will continue on.
And really, what’s in a name? I’d be proud to have a cooler from Johnson Radiator Works.

Great News. They made a great product, glad they will be continued to be produced.

  15. I'm glad that someone is taking it over. There are other quality builders, but I always trusted the Walker product.

Good news. I haven’t bought anything but Walkers for many years and I’m sure Alan Johnson will make sure the quality is maintained.

The quality of Johnsons Hot Rods products is second to non. Indeed the whole Johnsons shebang is a class act, so I'm pleased and confident that the bones of the Walker rads are in great hands!

    Champion radiator for sale!

So now instead of having a 4 row Walker radiator in your ride you can say you have a "Big Johnson" up front?

Seems the solution to the naming issue is Walker Radiator presented by Alan Johnson.

Thats the sort of news i've been wanting to hear! I procrastinated and didnt buy a Walker for my current project Buick before they closed, and sifting through all of the aluminum radiator companies isnt exactly giving me those warm fuzzies.

I called Johnson's this morning. No estimate of start up date but sounded like it was a few months out. If I understood correctly they're not going to be producing the "Cobra" line, just the higher cooling capacity "Z-Series". I must admit that wasn't what I wanted to hear since I don't need the higher cooling capacity that a higher HP, larger engine might require. But, I'm glad they're continuing to build the radiators since I don't think I've ever heard anyone complain about a Walker.
